I am trying out a new way of making the instructions. I have studied the new version of Blender software the last days in detail to be able to get this image done. I am hoping to recycle this for all new sets of the series as the buildings will all be built in the same basic way. It will take me a little while longer now to get it finished but for the next sets this phase (instructions) w...

This month I wanted a cart to starts moving all the crates and barrels around :-)
Here you see the new cart ready to load a couple of the previous bits.
The free version comes in a plain wood texture.
If you want to thank someone, thank my Patreons who make this possible with their support!
In thanking them I will give them the...

I have the free and simple and the advanced version done but I will need another day to create the instructions.
The simple one is really easy and fast to build, so if you need a couple in your village that's the way to go.

But then I wanted a more detailed version :-) The biggest challenge...

Here you can see the first two buildings - the core 5x3" house and the 3x2" extension - that will be in the Tropical Village Builder #1 set. The extension can also be used as a separate building if needed.
I made a separate file for door and windows if you want to build them open. Here are a couple of pics showing these details. So there is one version with these traditional Z-shape...

I have started putting together promo shots. Here is the stage set without inhabitants yet :-)
I have changed the scale of the palm front texture and made it a little smaller. I think it looks more realistic now. Above is the old (too large) version and below the new one.

To simulate the fr...

I have started working on the interior of the buildings. First is a shot where you can see the difference of the weathered vs. pristine version. It doesn't show well in the pic, but the bottom is sunbleached and then you have scratches and dirt etc.
Below is a better view of the inside. I have added more framework to the interior (as a real house would have). And because I want to add ope...

I am in the process of creating all the options, so here are more images.
The above pic shows the "linear" layout of the core and extension module.
While showing the first pics I got some feedback that the colors where too much for a Pirate setting. So if you want that, no problem, just turn of the color layers! :-)
Here is a look at the houses with just wood skin.

Here is a look at the first textured 5x3 house builds. There is no dirt layer yet but because I made the regular wall coloring grungy it already looks worn and used.
I have implemented the configurable door and windows at each position so I can now build all kinds of layouts with the two different looks.

Today I can show you how I break down the walls options. To start with I have two main plank patterns you see above.
For each of these you have different color options.

The top row shows the dark brown, blue and red colors. The bottom row shows the orange and green version. As you can mix t...

While I am working on door and window placement I find there are many ways to go. To help me find the right balance of complexity I have a question!
Do you rather prefer simple PDF's with limited options or more complex/multiple PDF's with loads of options?
I tend to want do pack in all the possible options I can think of but this can lead to quite "heavy" PDF's. Let me know how you...

Today I want to show you the variations I have implemented for the basic 5x3 house and the 3x2 extension. I can come up with many more, but I am limiting myself to provide the floor parts that will hold the modules together in a way that if you want more you can kit-bash them out of the existing ones.

Today I want to talk about how I am approaching the connectivity of the extensions in this set.
One thing that is important for me is to make sure I have the option of an fold-flat removable build. So for this type of buildings I am trying a different approach than with the Japanese buildings.
I am separating the raised floor layer and give it the function of keeping the below and a...

This month I needed a different crate. I was thinking something like a tools or weapons crate. I wanted to do this for a while but all the boat stuff has been postponing it :-)

After the ships I was thinking about doing some buildings for a change again and one style that came to mind was a tropical village where the Pirates would live on their island. So today I want to show you a peek at the buildings I want to create with these concept sketches.
As with most of my village builder sets, there will be a couple of main building blocks that you can then modify th...

First of all a big WELCOME to all new Patreons! As a creator there is just no better feeling when people are willing to value your work with real money. Thank you so much for all your support.
Besides the "basic bits" scatter stuff (for this month there will be a new crate design!) I am also developing new building sets. For these I am working on new textures. Above you can see my early t...

I planned to give these away when I got 1K followers on Twitter, and the announcement helped me raise more followers and awareness ... but I am getting impatient, because I want you guys to start using these already :-)
These deck plans are modeled after the "Ghost" ship from the DnD adventure, but should work fine as a generic ship in many situations.

One thing that will help me is a procedural pattern generator I am developing. Regular cut stone walls are easy to do but I also want have more irregular patterns available.

On the surface the release of the ships, both 3D and 2D have been keeping me quite busy the last weeks and months. They have been my biggest success so far in terms of quantity of sales and I hope they will help make my work become more known in the Tabletop community and get me closer to my goal of making a living with this kind of work.

This month I have been asked to do some debris elements. Here is the first set.
There are long, narrow and short, wide elements. Both come in a neat and broken version.
Build them as floating debris in the ocean or make some barricades!
Combine them with previous Basic Bits to form some tables and benches.

I am running a bit late this month with getting my next "Basic Bit" out, but here is a little preview of what I have planned next.
I wanted to do a new crate version but with the ships out, I got the feedback that some "floating debris" would be nice. So I went to make these neat and debris wood plank bits.
I plan to use them both on land and sea. On sea I want to make a raft, kitba...

When I heard that some of you wanted 2D ships I thought I could quickly convert the deck textures into a releasable product. One feedback I got was that not everybody is happy and a bit overwhelmed with a lot of l...

I have converted the smaller three ships, the rowing boat, jolly boat and gun boat and made a little video showing what I've done and how they compare the the 3D versions.

It's my first serious try with videos, so I hope I did a well enough job. Let me kn...
