Walls texturing overview

Today I can show you how I break down the walls options. To start with I have two main plank patterns you see above.

For each of these you have different color options.

The top row shows the dark brown, blue and red colors. The bottom row shows the orange and green version. As you can mix them, the first of the bottom row is a mix of the blue and red for example.

For the "openings" (doors and windows) I have numbered the possible positions #1-#3 from left to right. On each position on the full options file you can activate a door or window frame background. And then you can activate one of two door and window "closed" options.

If you want to add open doors and windows you would print just the frame, cut out the black and then use separate door and window parts and add them to the house. The above window shown is meant to open upwards.

Below are examples of different door positions and texture styles.

As you can switch each position on or off independently you can have no door or nothing at all.

Next I will start working on the weathering of the walls and the palm frond roof texture. I am also thinking about adding some options, like a jolly rogers sign painted on the wall or a board with numbers of captured ships for the pirate theme. Maybe for regular island huts I could add some tiki masks or similar. If you have ideas along these lines, let me know!

Until next time, have fun keep building!

Chris
