First of all a big WELCOME to all new Patreons! As a creator there is just no better feeling when people are willing to value your work with real money. Thank you so much for all your support.
Besides the "basic bits" scatter stuff (for this month there will be a new crate design!) I am also developing new building sets. For these I am working on new textures. Above you can see my early take on crooked wood shanty town style walls with the paint coming off due to saltwater, wind and rain over the years.
This will be for the upcoming tropical carribbean village aka pirates island town buildings! It is going to be a couple of simple wood buildings with palm leaf roofs. Each of them can be customized with veranda elements, so you can basically have towns with all unique layout buildings! Expect some concept sketches soon!!!
Another path of texturing I am continuing is the stone pattern generator I have talked about earlier. I have shown you the "irregular cut stones" version before and today I have a peek at the regular "brick" style pattern. Using different surface maps and color variations this can be a stone wall or a brick wall!

These will all come in handy when I start my generic medieval Fantasy village type buildings or more modern civilizations (for example Victorian houses).
One big challenge left will be what I call the "broken stones" wall texture, where the shapes are all irregular (and not even rectangles). I have made some good start on these patterns but need to work on fine tuning it so it doesn't look too computer generated.
That's a little peek of what I am working on and preparing for the next round of buildings. I am spending the summer getting all this groundwork done so I will have much more creative freedom and options to make new stuff later.
Until next time, have fun and keep building!
