Island Village first set is nearing completion ...
Added 2019-08-05 18:07:54 +0000 UTCI have started putting together promo shots. Here is the stage set without inhabitants yet :-)
I have changed the scale of the palm front texture and made it a little smaller. I think it looks more realistic now. Above is the old (too large) version and below the new one.
To simulate the fringed edge of the palm leaves I used a black shape but I have a special scissors that cuts in that kind of shape so I have tried it out for the first time!
These scissors are quite cheap and really help to get such a non-straight line cut in no time.
Finally here is a first shot with some minis to show the scale of the buildings better.
I will make another shot with some pirate paper minis I have and try to play around to show the different layouts, but I think this scene should show how different the buildings can look with just the first set!
One of the final steps remaining is to add the "decor" elements and then go into the boring but important instructions-and-final-double-check phase ... so still quite a bit to do until I am ready for a release.
