Update: Doors as a single print

I've added doors as an experimental single print option for the doors. They're in the Body - Doors folder. You'll have to experiment how it print them. I suspect flat on the "inner" side with supports will be the best way. 

R7 Dome continues

The basic dome is virtually complete, it's going to be an interesting print / build. The main details stripes will have to be part of the main dome. (Making them removable will lead to all sorts of warping / print issues I think). I'll release with the stripes and rear large panel as part of the dome so it will need masking. So I've completed the main design for the R7 dome. Still got to cut for printing and add supports / assembly but it's looking good....

Fusion designs for Charge Port and Data Port!!!

Here's the Fusion 360 designs for both the Data Port and the Charge Port. Note I've customised the Data Port to fit Glyn's light kit, but the Charge Port is still on the list, please feel free to edit, change and publish any of the designs to contribute to the open source R2!!!

R4 Dome is getting there, going forward all domes will be released with a single print version for those with CR5 - 500 printers (or other brands).

I have a theoretical design for a single print body, would be very interesting as more and more of the 500x500x500 printers are out there in the wild. The height of the body (without skirt) is 491.5mm... Interesting...

R9 dome nearly ready for electronics.

The test print of the R9 dome is nearly complete, it’s a nice build and I’m happy with the look, quite an unusual droid, so work thinking about.

R9 dome files ready in the wip folder

Just completed the first set of files for the R9 dome if you fancy something different! I’ve printed the dome and rings, nice print and build. Panels and greebles also uploaded but not fully printed those yet.

Updated Ring 2-5 and 2-6

I've revised the design for Ring 2-5 and Ring 2-6 to accommodate Glynn Harper's fantastic light set for the data panel. Now unfortunately, this is a new revision to the core body so I haven't got a retrofit as it would require cutting the Frame and updating. R4 Jig for Styrene builds (Will be releasing the printed R4 dome though).

I've done a R4 Jig for the curved pieces on the dome if you're doing a styrene version.... I've done two versions, one with holes for vac forming. Suggest PETG as PLA won't hold up under the heat. I've added marking / cut slits so you can oversize, shape and then mark / cut. It's made for 2mm Styrene (can do other versions if needed but 2mm should work). Prints in 3 pieces for a 200x200 print bed ...

3 leg jabba tray complete.

3 leg Jabba tray printed, tested and I’m happy with the fit. Pics are unfinished raw PLA bronze filament, incorporates magnets on all trays for accessories which won’t come off when moving. 3 Leg Mode (at last.. I think...)

This has been a hard design, basically as the 3 leg mode doesn't exist in the movies I've had to move stuff around to fit. The top Holoprojector being the biggest problem, to have something that looks the right height and is level, it clashes exactly with the holoprojector. I've spaced the trays out a little wider so the Holoprojector fits between them (Never going to have a tray that allows dome ...

3 Leg, pain in the.....

So the 3 leg mode is a bit of a nightmare basically because of the upper Holoprojector. I've had to respace the trays, move them around so the holoprojector fits between the trays. It's not possible to get a rotating dome without lifting the tray stupidly high or making it far too wide. I'm hoping that the trays will work for both designs, but I'll do two links for differing spacing and new legs f...
