Nickel Bronze Defender 12ga Round

Chris kept it simple on this one.   A very basic cylindrical slug made out of nickel bronze which he uses to fabricate valve guides out of.   VERY tough material capable of going through a Kevlar vest easily.   

Ferro-Fury Slugs - Intense sparking

Michael from Idaho sent these modified Fury Custom Bullet slugs filled with ferrocerium which send showers of sparks when they impact almost everything.

Will this ballistic helmet protect the glass head?

I bought this glass head on ebay and filled it with ballistic gel to simulate a human head and what it would be like to get hit wearing a ballistic helmet - even if the helmet stops the bullet.   The helmet (which is probably made in China but we don't know)  actually did a pretty good job with common calibers.

3-Fluted Russian Xtreme Penetrator 12 ga. slug - Very impressive

We finally test the 3 flute version of Alexey's  solid brass slugs.   I bumped up the velocity of these a tad to around 1650 fps.

"Alien Nipples" Strange but awesome 12ga Slug

Newest design by Evan from Texas.   Not sure what his inspiration was with these,  but I thought they looked like chess pieces but my friends said they looked like nipples.   These were all shot from a rifled barrel,  since I was certain they needed the spin.   They actually did really well.

Dixie IXL DGS - The BEST 12 ga. slug - you can no longer buy

Tsar Bomba Slugs- 1050 grains - world's heaviest 12ga.

Nick Ross modified his Russian Paradox mold so these are solid lead weighing 2.4 oz.   It took a bit of research to find a powder load for these things,  but I seemed to get one that didn't blow up the gun or injure the shooter from recoil.    We managed to get these over 1100 fps,   just a little shy of Mach 1.   No signs of overpressure so &nb...

726 grain "12 ga. from hell" slugs -tested!

We test out Richard F's  custom-made all copper slugs.   Richard has been able to get these to 2000 fps using around 220 grains of powder.  We don't have a shotgun with a 4" chamber and asking anyone to shoot more than one of those in a row would be cruel. Slugs r Us "Hammerhead" Slugs

We test Hammerhead slugs which I had high hopes for.  However,  these have a serious flaw with the quality of the plastic wad.   

Grimburg Round balls using Fed. Target shells

Danny returns!   I decided to have him test a lightweight 12ga round.   While people think "heavier is better"   we argue the need for a light recoil shell (that doesn't really exist commercially)   For these tests I just used Federal target loads for simplicity,  and roll crimped them.

What if Lehigh Defense made a 12ga Xtreme Penetrator?

Alexey from Russia apparently was impressed so much with the Xtreme Penetrators that he decided to machine his own and send us some for testing.   For kicks I wanted to see how close I could get to the velocity of the 10mm version of 1500 fps, and got very close.

Bullet Train - Disintegrating Sabot 3-ball round

Tungsten radiation shields - bulletproof?

Jorge who works in a radiology lab sent us two heavy and expensive tungsten plates (unknown exactly how these are used)  for us to shoot.   The results were actually quite impressive.    

Grimburg HP68 (more or) Less Lethal Slugs - Excellent Performance

A channel called  "Tech this out Meow"  contacted me a couple years ago to try this,  but at that time things were looking grim for my channel so I wasn't sure if I would be able to do the project.   He persisted and asked me again to try it.   In that time he made improvements to the armor and now claims it will stop rifle round.

A.R.M. Gatekeeper - Best slug you never heard of

This was a big surprise.   This slug had no impressive specs and it looked pretty ugly compared to other CNC - made slugs.   This all copper slug is segmented like other fancy slugs and we expected it to function just like all the rest.   But no!!
