Isometric Diorama One Shots

So I'm curious about these isometric dioramas and I wonder if anyone else sees the potential I do in them. I think they could be an interesting approach to describe an encounter space; either a one shot location or for an encounter, where one doesn't want to run a gridded map or play completely theatre of the mind.

They're quite limited in focus... which I think is part of the appea...

Tomb of the Nine Gods Printed Map Pack

This is the first print version of my Tomb of Nine Gods map. The map originally started out being designed for online VTTs, but I’ve had a couple of requests by Patreons for a version they can play IRL. This is that version. It is the first one, so there may well be some improvements specifically for a printed experience I’ve yet to learn, so please if something feels off or can see a bette...

That devouring chest

In area 12 on level 1 of the Tomb of Annihilation is a chest. It has a tiny, perturbing inscription hidden around an inlaid silvered demon skull that reads: "I devour all but the greatest thieves." Inside the demon's maw, behind a dozen needle sharp fangs, is the keyhole.

This is a player handout to convey the seriousness of the lock. ;)

Cog of Blood wardrobes

In the Tomb of Annihilation there is a Cog of Blood. In this Cog of Blood stand 5 wardrobes, each with a remarkable image or in one case, an ornate clock face. Herewith, images to be used as player handouts to help set the scene.

The wardrobes are free standing and appear made of various dark woods. They are each of their own style, some simple, others ornate; all appea...

On the mend

Hey everyone, sorry for the very quiet October. I've had a rather nasty injury involving both my hands and quite a few fingers which seem to be taking the full 6 weeks to come right. I tripped and fell down a flight of stairs at the mall with my arms laden with shopping early last month.

I couldn't save myself and in our local parlance, totally fumbled my dex save. Fingers and wrist...

TotEM : Rope Bridge Ambush [1-70]

70 TotEMs made using midjourney + photoshop for use in your rope bridge ambush encounter. The categories are: bottom of falls, cave, rivers, rope bridge, top of cliff, totem poles, underwater, waterfalls.

The encounter idea is classic Indiana Jones. A single rickety rope bridge across yawns across an impossibly wide gulf above a jungle basin of waterfalls. The white water p...

Mr Withers' anatomical drawings of the Atropal

In the Tomb of Annihilation, Mr Withers enjoys drawings anatomical studies of the jungle animals - they are proudly on display in his office. He must've, during his long undead tenure, gone down to the Cradle of the Death God and applied his hand in capturing the various stages of the Atropal feeding on souls.

These are his notebook sketches.

TotEM AI-generated art pack 1 [1-150]

I've jumped on the MidJourney bandwagon to make art for my D&D game. In these two zips are over 150 images in 14 categories:

Cavern, Dungeon, Harbour, Jungle, Machine, Marshland, Mountains, Ocean, Palace, River, Skyship, Town, Underwater and Waterfall

Their style isn't consistent - some are very painterly, others inky and others more "realistic". As they are trying to convey the...

Withers' Door - A puzzle

The door is magically locked and can only be opened with a passphrase.

There is no keyhole, no lock, no visible hinges and no mechanical trap. There is a brass doorknob of a lion's head that does not turn, but is hand sized and positioned to easily grasp to push open. There is a large "W" letter-form, also in brass, sitting proudly above the dark wood.  Orange candlelight can b...

Treehouse base

An expansive treehouse base featuring a pulley-winch'd cage down to the forest floor, a sleeping quarters, a mess and a mission briefing chamber (with leader's quarters). Acererak's Warnings in 3 scripts

An alternative player handout for Acererak's plaque warnings in the Tomb of Nine Gods. They are in 3 scripts: Common (as the adventure indicates), or choose Dethek (thanks to the Dwarven stonemasons) or some unknown Oerthan script because Acererak would write the warnings in his mother's tongue.

Play it as a puzzle
The two alternative (non-Common) scripts are sti...

TotEM Circle

TotEM Circle is a hybrid map: part theatre of the mind, part gridded battlemap – using the TotEM cards to represent key locations or things within the immediate scene.

Some roleplaying games (like the Year Zero engine) use conceptual ranges instead of exacting feet or metres, these are usually: close, short, medium and long. What's great about them is that they can flex to better ...

The Coiled Viper (Legendary Magical Item)

I made this item for my Tomb of Annihilation game. I wanted an item that would get better over time, that had versatility, but also packed a punch. Thematically, I knew I wanted to connect it to Dendar The Night Serpent, but that flavour is utterly interchangeable. And then lastly and perhaps unimportantly, I was intrigued in making it not require ammunition. Ammo tracking is most often handwav...

Twinned Hands of Fate [60x45]

Two massive stone cupped hands tower over the road. From your position you can make out under the shadowed undersides. A heist in the upper district [TotEM]

Just a small example of a heist I recently ran for my group in Port Nyanzaru using my TotEM system). The group had a choice of 3 ways to start the heist, indicative of their route choice to Wakanga's vault of magical items. The vault is situated Top Right - in the dead end, with the round portal.

The could start Top Left, which would be the shortest and most direct route with the hi...

• The real tomb of the head of the Lionheart is in the middle, ...
