Ever wonder what it's like to be in the control booth or the live room of a recording studio, or what the process of recording an album is like? These intimate videos from the production of The Normal Album were too close of a look to squeeze into "What Did I Do?" and have the documentary flow properly, but we think you'll get a real kick out of paying us a virtual visit in studio back in time,...

A few weeks ago, while my hair was growing back unevenly after having shaved my head, I went to the barber and was utterly butchered. I had asked him to clean it up on the back and sides, and he asked me if I meant a fade. I wasn't sure what that meant exactly, so I said "maybe?" and he immediately went to work and took it past the point of no return before I could say anything more. So for the...

TL;DR: Things are good
In a sense, the "In Case I Die" Tour was sort of my first tour ever. Sure, I'd gone on 2-3 week self-booked DIY tours a few times, playing at dive bars and punk basements to a handful of die-hards or nobody at all, but that was it. Many of the people I ran into became friends, or at least something like friends, and due to these shows' intimacy it w...

I'm not entirely sure I have the motivation or clarity of mind necessary to write even this entry, let alone consistent Tour Diary entries as I go through the ICIMI tour, but I figured I'd post a little something today and try to post at least a couple paragraphs here and there.
On this tour, the team and I are riding in a Bandwagon RV/camper with a sixteen foot trailer hitched to the bac...

Animator Joseph Weidlein (pronounced "Wide Line") first contacted me after seeing the "Memento Mori" music video as part of a festival it was submitted to. He offered me his services, but I didn't have any projects at the time. A few months ago however, I found myself listening to the "Euthanasia" demo over and over and imagining an animated music video in my head. So I checked out 2022-07-17 22:00:03 +0000 UTC

Matt Berger, the extraordinarily talented multi-instrumentalist whose saxophone and clarinet work you've heard on everything I've put out since 2017 says he can't play clarinet or flute. Yet he still managed to play both of those instruments on ICIMI, alongside alto, tenor, and baritone saxophone. Matt Berger is a fool.

Kawari Sound in Wyncote PA has a gorgeous Steinway upright that I like to record on. Since we were already there and already filming, we figured we'd do some vocals as well despite my dry and cracking voice.

Mario Conte is the greatest drummer I've ever seen, hands down. And I'm not just saying that because he's one of my oldest and dearest friends. I've never seen anyone do what he can do. Maybe drummers with an ear for world-class drumming know who to look up on Youtube to prove me wrong, but eh. I've worked with a lot of great drummers, who have all had their strengths and unique touch, so don't...
