Update : Parry system and optimisation

Hello guys, here's some updates on the game :

There's now a non-combat stance where the heroine will behave differently if she hasn't attacked for a while.

The small robots became pretty tough now ! If you get too close, they'll throw kicks at you. The only way to counter them is by blocking at just the right moment, creating a parry system similar to Metal Gear Rising.

Endless Mode + new version of the game


I've started working on a simple endless mode with a cute new map I found. In this mode, you can automatically trigger growth by pressing "P".
However, there are still quite a few bugs: some mechas randomly explode for no reason, the level restarts if you grow past 140 meters, and there are still FPS drops.

New feature : Charged attack !

I've started working on a charged attack system: with the attack button, you can now perform two different types of attacks.

If you press the button for a short amount of time, you'll execute a light combo attack. If you hold the button down longer, you'll charge up a heavy attack, dealing more damage. The longer you charge, the more powerful the attack becomes.

New feature : NUCLEAR ARTILLERY


I wanted to add a bit more challenge to my game, so here we go : nuclear artillery.

As you can see from the red progress bar, the nuclear artillery takes 30 seconds to charge. The targeting visor follows you until the final moments of the charge.
You only have a few seconds before the bomb is released, dealing massive damage that easily kill anything smaller than 30 meters/100 ft...

Update : Soft Lock added and other things

Hello again ! I've added a couple of new features this time :
First of all, Sparky can now happily dance with you.
I've also implemented a Soft Lock system: as shown in the video, when you're near an enemy, your character will automatically rotate to face them, making the combat system a bit easier.

Update on Sparky and new character

I started working on Sparky. Sparky doesn’t do anything except wave at you. He isn’t considered an enemy and has exactly 1 HP.
Killing him won’t drop any XP either. However, as shown in the video, killing Sparky will enrage all enemies in a certain range, making them attack much faster and deal increased damage for a few seconds.
I also bought another cute character ^^.

Another Update + goals for Scale of Survival V0.3

Update : LeaderBoard (new version of the game available)

Update : dodging

Hello again! I've added a new mechanic: dodging. Dodging consumes stamina, but it allows you to avoid hits and catch enemies more easily. Dodging can also kill ennemies if you are far bigger than them. I'm now working on a quick endless mode where you can just grow and kill ennemies for fun. Once this mode is complete, I'll upload a new version of the game.

The portal doesn't look weird no matter the size/rotation.
The big mecha now has a better aim and will hit the player most of the time, even if he's small and near him (see video linked).

What's next ?

The main priority is to fix all the following bugs:

  • XP particles don't reach the player when they get to a certain size (fixed).

  • The main menu has no music (fixed).

  • The player gets stuck between buildings or due to small objects that should be destroyed.

  • Enemies sometimes die inside buildings, preventing XP particles from being collecte...
