The great lift bottoms out at this accursed level. The knowledge held within has been left abandoned to time for good reason. An old magic protects the dark tomes from the watery caverns interspersed between these chambers. Roots ascend from a pit deeper still, bulging the flagstones and cobbles in the floors and walls, and hinting at some unlikely lifeform buried in the dark.
