Here to give a small update. We are busy digging at the hardware and software and reviewing our options. Some prospects look scary, but the potential payoffs are huge. I can't go into details since we don't have all the information on what's possible at the moment, and then decisions need to be made about what's practical.

The former system admin's email got hacked and started sending out spam. The company generated spam and abuse messages and turned the site off. I have responded to their requests but they have been slow to get back to me; I don't believe any actual human person has even taken notice yet.
