I add the whiskers in early with a white Polychromos, and actually wish I hadn't so - if you want to add them first do - or wait until the end and bring in with your slice tool if you're using pastelmat - it worked much better :)

I start to create the soft fur around the left side of the cat's face - it's a slow process, and picking colours is also a bit hit and miss - I've found that the lightfast colours mixed in with the luminance are working best for this colour and fur. I do swap around, and that's because it's very challenging working out the right combinations of colour to give that soft feel.
