I'm using the new weight Clairefontaine Pastelmat that they sent me to trial for this piece. The colour is sand, not beige. I don't think you can purchase the new weight yet which comes on a roll, so use the sheets or board. The sand does work nicely :)

Summer - nose and tongue

A nice quick video showing how to draw summer's nose and tongue. This is on pastelmat board, but you can use the same techniques on normal pastelmat or on hot press paper - just watch the light over dark if you're using a smoother paper.

Red Squirrel Part 1

Little squirrel part 1. He's approx 5" across on pastelmat board and the image is from Pixabay.

It's quite a fast one - well around 5 hours I think and it's all about blending and getting the bright colours and soft background.

Dog Paw

Quick video, quite effective and on Fabriano Artisico Hot press - and I did enjoy it although my arm hurt a bit with the burnishing.

Hi everyone :) I have a fabulous tutorial coming for the £10 tier - a little red squirrel :) I haven't decided if it will have a background or not but it's a gorgeous photo.

Your £5 tier tutorial is going to be a paw - the underside part - getting to grips with texture etc.
