The amazing Tina Virani has shared this video for us, she's recorded herself using a lightbox and various papers to show how brilliantly the ref shows through - even on pastelmat!!!

Part 1 of the Hummingbird, attached below are the hi res photo, line art and materials list. If you don't have the luminance then just choose the brightest greens, blues and purples from whatever set you have - honestly it won't matter. 

In this tutorial it's mostly single layers of colour on drafting film. I used a piece that was 25x35cm. I would use either the Grafix drafting film ...

Barn Owl Part 1

Part one of the the lovely barn owl. Hi res image and line art attached plus the materials list. I used an A3 piece of paper, but you can do him whatever size you want. The paper I've used is smooth, so any smooth paper will work, plus of course pastelmat - I would say the techniques would be very different on drafting film so if you want to use that you will have to tweak.
