Tay update

So this is the plan for the next stage of the trip!

I’m still working out the design so I haven’t lashed it together yet. But this is the rough idea.

In related news, yesterday I pulled something in my back while moving a log. It feels pretty serious - it took me 2 hours to work out how to get out of bed this morning.

I’m taking a day off from building today in an attem...

Update

Things are going well on the Tay - if not a little slow. I thought the first 26miles to loch Tay would take a max of 5 days. I’m writing this on the morning of day 7 and I’m only just over half way - distance wise. But the river has opened up now and there’s a chance I’ll reach the loch by this evening.

(I had no consistent signal for the first 3 days so the short form vids are c...

New source to sea mission

Hello all!

The next adventure is source to sea down the longest river in Scotland - The River Tay! It’s around 120miles, so a fair bit shorter than the Thames, but what it lacks in length it makes up for in wildness! The rapids on this river are like nothing I’ve tackled before and saying I’m apprehensive about them would be an understatement.

I’ll be walking and...

Which river should I do next?

With just two videos of the Thames series left to edit and release I’ve been beginning pondering which river I should take on next. While I do have a couple of potential candidates in mind, before I share these I’d be very interested to receive your input. Which river would you like to see me tackle?

Part 6 - Source to Sea down the River Thames WITHOUT Leaving it

The Rivers Trust fundraiser: https://www.justgiving.com/page/edprattriver

I hope the length of this one explains why it took a little longer to release. Initially I’d planned for this to be two videos, but I realised halfway through editing that the story worked better as one single feature-length...

Editing progress update

Hello everyone! I just wanted to keep you in the loop with my editing progress. I’d really hoped to have completed Part 6 by this Friday, but I’m realising that’s not quite going to happen. So the new aim is early next week.

‘Part 6’ spans six days in total and the edit has ballooned into a bit of a monster. All in, I reckon it’ll be at least a 1h20m runtime and I...

Part 4 - Source to Sea down the River Thames WITHOUT Leaving it

Thank you for your patience with this one. 'Twas a beast of an edit, but we got there :) I've also had to switch video hosting from Vimeo to Youtube. So please let me know if you have any issues viewing. Vimeo told me I was exceeding my bandwidth allocation - too many people watching haha! Good issues to have!

What's my release schedule?

“When’s the next video out?” is a comment I’ve read a ‘healthy’ amount of times since beginning the release of my new source to sea series.

First off, I’m totally amazed and grateful that so many of you want to see this journey unfold. I’ve been working on this project alone for months, so seeing it gain so much traction is incredibly vindicating, and I’d lik...

The edit for this series has ballooned into a bit of a monster, but I’m relieved to finally begin releasing videos. Part 2 will be released next week so keep an eye out!

Thames Series Update

Since returning from the Thames life has been a little hectic, but the edit of the series is now in full flow. As usual I definitely overshot, capturing over 100 hour of material, all of which I've been slowing wading through with the aim of cutting the final runtime of the series down to around 3 hours.

This week I've been taking a break from footage to teach myself some new software for...

  • Needs editing

Day 20 (Finale) - Can I Unicycle Across a Country Using ONLY Hiking Trails?

That’s it! 674km over 20 days of riding! The weather didn’t make it easy on this final day, but the allure of the finish was too strong not to push for the border. So, can I unicycle across a country using only hiking trails? I guess I can!

Thank you everyone for supporting here on Patreon and for allowing me to put the time into these edits. Onto the next!
