I worked with a lady who ate baby powder and corn starch, no lie.
Cheers to Catherine for the question!

Continuing where we left off in Chimerae Manor...
Temp tracks this time are Yasunori Mitsuda's "Sneaking Around" and "Gale" (Radical Dreamers) and Toby Fox's "Run!" (Undertale).
Two more scenes to board!

I have not been this excitebike about this comic since... chapter 2? Yeah, there's some interesting scenes ahead. We're gonna have fun!

Welcome back, Doc! He's taking a few questions before we officially dive in to chapter 11.

The last pages of chapter 10 are up on the website! This post will make the patron charge for the update. THANK YOU GUYS again for your support of the comic and my other works here.
Seen above is my concept for Tucker's karategi, something he'll be wearing 'til the end of the comic. I'm sure no one's failed to notice ...

That's the end of chapter 10! The charged post will go up Friday (Aug 2nd) with the website update and announcements - no charged post for the three-page July update.
Cheers to long-time chupapologist Lady_Vossler for the coloring assistance on pages 25, 26 and 29. I've known LV for some years now, and they've always been dependable and skillful (not to mention a 2019-07-30 22:19:02 +0000 UTC View Post
I'm trying a darker (regulation!) blue for Tucker's 'gi here, since I wasn't liking how it blended with his fur. Also finally noticed a mistake I'd been making the entire chapter about the stripes on Juwo's ears. Consistency, what's that?

Tucker's new skills are really making a splash.

We're heading into our last update of the chapter with help from a colorist friend (they did the flats here!) I'm really happy with their work so far, and once we get things arranged I'll have more to announce on that.

I updated the chupa website today rather than Wednesday, since that's when I'm driving out to RTX, and I'll be booked up at work Tuesday. For anyone joining me in Austin, have fun and safe travels! Don't let the fireworks push you off the road with too much 'murica.
While I'm out, I have somethi...

Hiya chupamigos, how's your June been?
Above you see my final commission for 2019. TPC and comics had to pump the brakes while I finished this piece and two others for coworkers and family this month. I'm freaking *retired* from commissions and painting, I swear. Damnit Jim, I'm a cartoonist, not Rembrandt.
I'm very happy to put commission work behind me and get back to personal projec...

Let the training begin.
Every time I sit down to paint comics, in the back of my mind I'm exploring shortcuts: ways to make comic creation more efficient. My last huge "breakthrough" was years ago in chapter 4, with the decision to start using 3D models in Blender. I haven't regretted my time in Blender, the lessons I learned working with 3D models and the animations that were eventually ...

Hiya guys! This'll be the paid post for May, covering the website update for chapter 10, pages 18-21. Above you see some warm-up sketches left over from art request streams.
The next scene of TPC ep01 is still boarding, so look for it! In the meantime, I've got thumbnails ready for another comic update.

Been a strange month, amigos. Ye Olde Day Job suffered huge staff shortages (fired two ladies yesterday for getting into a cat fight, bringing our losses to 4), so I've been pulling overtime and training newbies at once. Still, I can't make excuses for falling short creatively, so since there's no comic update for April, there won't be a charge to patrons. I do have thumbnails drawn and 10-18 a...

Scene five! Three to go.
I don't like that shot transition in the upstairs hallway. I should change it in the final. This is my note to myself to change it?
It's interesting to me how much writing happens in storyboarding. The vault scene turned out VERY differently from the script. Turns out combination locks are huge whiny bitches to crack and take an absurd amount of time even i...

This'll make the update! All that's left is some background work. I'm shooting for a website release on Wednesday (27th), Thursday at the latest, and I'll make a charged post to go with it.

The temp music tracks here are Radical Dreamers's "Under Moonlight" and "Snakebone Mansion." It was originally composed by Yasunori Mitsuda and sequenced by João Buaes (I just removed the crickets and water sounds.) Like the synth dialogue, it is temporary and will be replaced in the final cut.
Learned this scene: mix the SFX as I go, rather than after all the boards are drawn. That said...
