Sorry this one is so long. I just got into a groove. I don't expect anyone to get to the end.

The TL;DR is that writing is going well and I've reached at least a solid half-way point. Self-motivation isn't great fuel. I need a social group. Online discourse is scary. People need to love each other better. Xenoblade 3 sucks.

Finishing the Novel

Letting you guys all know that I’m going dark this month. I’m taking time away from home to finish writing the first, finished draft.

I expect this to be a very close approximation to the final draft after edits which will happen during the implementation of art and sound.

Working on finalized art for the cast. That's Jui, Jax, Carla, Brandon, Krista, and Toby.

These will be hosted on the official My Earthly Home website I'm putting together accompanied by a brief description of their character and place in the story.

On the writing front, I've decided (more or less) on the ending. A lot of work needs to go towards fleshing out the middle act...

The project is still going.

I've recently, finally gotten access to antidepressants which I've been needing for much too long. It's a new one for me (Wellbutrin) so we'll see how that affects me. Ideally, I'll feel well enough to get working more often.

Which is another reminder--at least to help me feel better about it--my mental and physical health aren't great. I get little burst...

A tiny snippet of Scene 1. Just to give you guys an idea of what's all going into this.

Quick breakdown:
- There are four (4) Juis and four (4) Carlas programmed and animated.
- Around 12 (x3) frames of animation per character + mouthshapes on 5+ layers.
- All coded to be reusable and layerable for costume and expression changes.

When making a visual novel, or really any multimedia project, there's a lot of parts to assemble. Drawings, music, code, etc.

But each of those individual thing need their own attention through design, composition, and workflow.

I finally have all these pieces working together for the completion of the very first scene. This means it's entirely playable and close to a contender for ...

Background Solutions!

After a lot of grinding away, I've come up with some backgrounds that are both in line with what I want to do for the visual novel and within my means and ability.

I've had to learn and do a lot on my own: Character design, programming in Python, writing and story structure, scoring, PR (bad at this one)... But I've always struggled with backgrounds.

I've been focusing a lot of streaming and writing lately.

And by that I mean that I had been sick for nearly 2 weeks where all I could do was watch anime.
