I went to bed with this Patreon still needing three more sign-ups before I could start the big collaboration project I had proposed, and this morning I woke up to that goal number not only having been met but actually surpassed. (I mean, surpassed by two. But still! Surpassed is surpassed 😤)
Which means I actually have to hold up my end of the deal and turn your contributions into the biggest fiber art tapestry-thing I've ever made.
How to Participate:
You all have one week (Cut off date Tuesday, January 24th) to answer the following question in the comments section below using one(ish) word or title (And state how you would like me to credit you publicly, if at all. Absence of this information = no public crediting):
What Makes You Feel Joy?
EXAMPLE ANSWERS:
Verb - Dance, Gardening, Hiccups, Drinking Tea
Noun - Dessert, The Neighbor's Cat, My Niece, Roller Derby Rink
Try to keep it to one word if possible, but obviously some things require more than one word, like "Boba tea" or "New York City" or "my foster kid singing" or something. But, like, aim for a single word response, y'know?
Also, you're welcome to explain your one(ish) word answer in your comment, too. That's not part of the art project, I just like to hear about stuff that makes people happy.
Go ahead and post the same answer, even if somebody else said it before you! I have an idea for duplicate answers...
And Then What?
I will collect your answers until Tuesday, January 24th, and then I will translate them into shapes which I cut out from my giant fabric archive. These shapes will be collaged together onto a big ol' tapestry background and embellished with embroidery stitches, beads, and god-only-knows what else.
Oo-ho-ho. Mmmmmm. I'm so excited to pick out fabric patterns to go with each word/shape.
