Cheapest Amazon Rifle Scope vs 12 gauge shotgun

We Loctited-this cheap scope to a Mossberg 590 to see if this would ever hold zero.   Surprisingly,   it did quite well.   We probably put a total of 20 rounds through it,   how long the scope would last would probably break the bank.    But  it did well in this test.

Co2 cylinders are way to evenly weighted. Put some form of weight at the round end. .maybe a big blob of epoxy resin glue mixed with fine birdshot. Let it harden. Then for the rear streamers...instead of just long straight bits..add some wider bits of cloth or string at 90° to the streamers. A little more drag pulling back...with the extra nose weight punching forwards. Then WATCH...!

Try using an inch pound torque wrench, 18 inch pounds for most ring screws.

Even after using loctite on everything, we still got about 1/2 a turn on the screws after a few shots.

AND it has and AO. what a deal. Hey Danny, how about some Colored duct tape to dress up that hat?? That HS Flex is awesome. Looks like a hard rubber tube on the optics.

But, but but, you just installed it correctly and used it as it was intended to be used??? Great job, fair and a fair test too. Checking the screws and using thread compound is the way to go, even if the scope and rings/mounts are factory mounted. I seen several pre-mounted scopes wobbling after just a few shots. As for air rifles, they recoil the spring models recoil in the opposite direction so scope makers, including makers of inexpensive scopes, make special air rifle models.

You were also testing the Acog knock off how did that end up? This is neat stuff I hate spending money on a name sometimes it is very disappointing . I'm what they call a penny pincher AKA Cheap.

Try putting it the freezer for 24 hours, let it warm, then repeat a couple of times. See if it gets moisture inside.

Any chance you have a more expensive scope to test? For me, I'm interested in the flex that you see in the high speed. Thats gotta effect the internals after a while. Just curious if the more spendy scopes flex similarly......

I saw this reviewed (and destroyed) and decided that it was worth buying. After seeing it hold up to a 12 Gauge, I'm buying another one as a spare.

Half past midnight here in Denmark now. I should have gone to bed a couple of hours ago. You guys just made me postpone that for another 15 minutes :-D Oh well, I'm not working Wednesday, so no big deal. As usual well worth staying up for. Thank you all.

I posted the previous comment before the end of the video.

The true test would be putting it on a high power spring piston air rifle. Something like the old Beeman Kodiak; that totally different recoil of a high power air rifle is usually a scope breaker.
