Since the last post I have been spending a lot of time getting the hull in release shape. I have added the dirt and old wood layers for weathering and the general color modifiers. I yet have to add the detail color variations and I would like make the "inverse" option once again, where you have dark and light wood inveresed as this adds a new look to the options.
But I have also been making a little progress to the rig. Here I have completed the adding of the ratlines to the shrouds to hold the mast. To make them removeable I have split them in a way you can now slot in and out the upper part.

The lower part is glued to the hull. This is the easy build version with the black spaces not cut out. For more detail and a little better look I will cut them out in the final build :-)
The lower part and the upper part meld together visually like this. The horizontal bar covers the slot, so it looks like the shrouds and the holdings below are one!

Next week I will focus on getting the hull in shape for release so that I have the first part done in time. It's only one more week and there are some small things I want to add, like the rudder and the anchor details. Then make the instructions and cut files.
So the actual sailing rig will be sometime next month. I also will package the deck structures in December but I am aiming at releasing before the Christmas holidays, in case one of you wants to start building then :-)
I will throw in the cannons this month for all that have not picked them up when they were released the first time. I might make them a P.W.Y.W. (free as in "pay what you want") product in the shops to help raise awareness for the pirate fleet builder series.
Until next time, have fun and keep building,
Chris
