Because I'm a very diligent grandchild I had to check his linkedin for the dates, but he was president 79-88

Oh wow that's amazing! Do you mind saying who specifically? Not Edmund Fitzgerald right?

Okay so. Funny story. I'm actually the grandchild of Nortel's president before Paul Stern. The story I've heard is that part of the failure was that Grandpa is an engineer, and when he left, they replaced him with people who weren't engineers. Don't ask my opinion, I'm an anthropologist, not an engineer. Surprising video to see, and entertaining to watch, even if you didn't mention my grandpa :P

Thank you Bobby, for putting together this wonderful in-depth look into part of recent history... I'm looking forward to your Part 2 !... Our company's DB/DC pension investment choices, resulted in some negatively impacting, inflated T4A upward adjustments for one tax year, just before, near the crash... An accompanying letter from our company regarding this added change, explained that the weighting of the TSE's index funds were affected by Nortel's presence, and the rapid rate of rise in their stock price, resulting in a glitch they termed as: "Unrealized Capital Gains" ? ? ?... To this day, I'm still confused & not exactly sure just what "Unrealized Capital Gains" even means, but many people took some kind of financial tax burden hit because of that.
