Heya everyone! I'm back again this week with this month's bonus art post--and this is a fun one sure, featuring everyone's favourite slimy gal who most certainly doesn't get enough time in the spotlight as of late.
Like previous months, I've worked with Mogucho to continue on with the MGQ/QF crossover stuff, because we intend to finish what we started and hopefully feature all of the 'main' characters at one point or another!
Erubetie proved a bit of a challenge to conceptualise for this month's piece--as Jilly was the natural contender for her role. But then came the question of, how exactly do we get Jilly looking like her? Is it even possible for slime girls to cosplay other slime girls?! And if we went ahead with it, would we have her convey the more emotionless attitude that Erubetie typically has, or go happy and potentially conflict against the character.
There was a lot of back-and-forth on this matter--quite the intense discussion, really--and in the end, an idea was born to have more of a 'behind-the-scenes' kind of look at Jilly, as she's in the process of donning the cosplay, and looking entirely unsure about the whole thing herself. Sort of a unique take on the whole crossover theme--which I hope you'll agree ended up with quite the fun illustration for all to enjoy!
I'm especially fond of how lovingly Jilly has been drawn here, with her ample curves more than emphasised at such an advantageous angle--because goodness, she really is a curvy gal, isn't she? It's no wonder she's captured the hearts of so many in a slimy cage! The posing was also a lot of fun to see come to life, too--as there's a lot going on here! From the main focus of Jilly heaving up her ridiculously large bosom as she paints over things (with just the right amount of squish and indentation against her fingers) to her many tentacles fussing over every aspect of the cosplay as it comes together. Even resulting in a fun little cameo from the actual Erubetie as she holds a reference image close at hand--what a bonus!
Jilly seems pretty unsure of this whole thing and questions if she can really pull it off...but regardless, she'll do her best to make sure everyone is happy, just because she's sweet like that~
I hope you'll enjoy this fun piece--the MGQ series of illustrations have been a lot of fun to plan with the artist! And as always--anyone who pledges $15 or more will get the high resolution version of this wonderful image.
Until next time!
