Quest Failed: Chapter Two - Dev Log #135

Hiya everyone! We're back with a new year and a new dev log--hurray~ Admittedly this one was slightly delayed, but for a good reason, as I've been working away on the next big build and getting ever closer--and I'll detail exactly what's been worked on in the coming paragraphs!

But first, just as a quick reminder--over the course of December, I released a flashy new Christmas demo to the public--that you might want to try out if you're itching for some more QF! It features two scenarios: one with a clumsy merchant, and the other where you go on a date with a certain mischievous royal spy~ They're both pretty involved quests, too, with about 30,000 words worth of text in total, so it's a fair chunk of content to see!

Moving along--I'm happy to say I'm in the final stages of preparing for the next big alpha release that will include 5 new CG scenes. Most of them are erotic in nature, and personally I'd consider the fifth one to be nice as well--but it's not as explicit as the others, so might not be considered too lewd by some. Either way it's a nice romantic moment that maybe gets a little bit out of hand, as is usually the case when Matt interacts with the monstrous folk~

One CG scene took up until now to properly finalise, as I was never happy with it and it took a lot of effort to chip away at, despite not even being that long of a scene. It's something very different, and while technically a h-scene--it probably won't be enjoyed by as many people, but was a necessity all the same as a way of punishing poor Matt for making a most unwise choice. There's failure...and then there's ADVANCED failure--of which can very much be attributed to this CG scene.

I understand my quest for perfectionism doesn't necessarily jive too well with wanting to finish the rest of the game in a timely manner, especially with so many people being patient and supportive of me all the while--so I want to try and avoid these roadblocks in the future if I can. And to maybe just push back that voice in my head that says what I'm writing might not be good enough, and instead leave it to the judgement of the lovely alpha players--where I can then fix it afterwards, rather than trying to self-edit all the while. It's a slippery slope, you know! Sometimes I just need a good slap to get into action, rather than laser-focusing on one scene and worrying if it's good enough.

So yeah, hopefully in the coming days I can finally start to do all the more labour intensive work required for piecing these scenes together now that I'm finally 100% happy with the writing! I'll keep everyone posted as I move along on that front.

Finally--yes, more wonderful Anna! Because I just can't get enough of that freckled vixen~ Here is yet another tease of one her h-scenes! Because with assets like that--of course she was due for a paizuri scene. It would have been a horrible crime if she didn't have one after all the time Matt spends gawking and drooling (quite literally) over her wonderful bosom. And as expected, those mounds of hers are so big, they practically bury Matt's lower-half, complete with an additional pose she has where she alternates between squashing them together against him and relaxing--to simulate the act of paizuri a bit more with a pseudo-animation of sorts, kind of like how some of the handjobs have been. There's also a lot of additional layers like the added sweat you see here--to ensure the scene looks as hot and heavy as the writing might describe it as. Yes--the paizuri here might have ended up with some special attention, but I just couldn't help myself!

You might also notice how Anna has a slightly more gentle/loving expression, compared to the dull look she had in the handjob teased before. You can attribute this to her warming up to Matt ever so slightly, as most of the women tend to do if they spend enough time in his presence. He just has the kind of bumbling...helpless energy that really makes you want to protect and smother him in love (and breasts), you know? I like these kind of gradual developments over the course of a game, where you can notice the characters warming up to him, not just through their words, but their actions and expressions, too. I can't claim to be a master of it, but I do what I can if the situation permits the chance to express such development!

This will be the last Anna CG teased (though she still has at least one CG left beyond this one), I promise, because believe it or not, other girls do exist in the game besides Anna and Ren--so hopefully I'll be able to showcase those ones a bit more in the future!

That said, I hope you enjoyed this little tease and love the buxom innkeeper as much as I do.
