Despite your challenges regarding managing a chronic illnes such as schizophrenia within your relationship, I can see the chemistry between you two and that you just enjoy each other's company most of the time!😉 Keep building on that friendship and perhaps take the Myer Briggs personality test to see where you guys are compatible and what are your individual strengths and weaknesses solo, and as a couple. Along with my personal faith in God and the Bible, having a broader understanding of different personalities has helped me in all of my relationships. Patience, kindness and forgiveness are just some of the positive qualities that help them (relationships) to thrive.❤

Thank you Lauren & Rob for your sharing. As a sister of someone with Schizoaffective disorder the discussion of 'hidden' disease and capacity was excellent (I forwarded to my sister). Often my lack of 'enthusiasm' regarding some of my sisters proposal because of my concern for her mental health have been misconstrued as a general assessment of who she IS not the concern for her disease.
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis which is also a 'hidden' disease - if your meds are working you do not develop the visible signs of joint damage HOWEVER one still manages pain and tremendous fatigue while 'looking' healthy. Its challenging.

Thank you for sharing your story. If there was a physical disability, ie. Paraplygic would it be any more difficult than mental illness? Respectfully, whether you want to realize it or not, hubby, you knew what you signed up for with your own two kids. Lauren is an amazing story and Mom, who's an inspiration to so many extended families.
