r/Adultery is extremely interesting as much of the discourse is expressly looking at the morality of different choices. Most posters do not think adultery is good or a moral choice they are defending - that is what I think makes it unique in that it is populated by people who what to know the right thing to do in a situation they (mostly) readily acknowledge is wrong.

Men who take back their cheating wives seem always to rouse a special ire in people but particularly in men. Mocked as “cucks” or “weak”, they’re routinely harangued and asked: “Where’s your pride?!” or “R u even a man at all?”. If u look @ the psychological literature on cheating, avrg differences emerge as regards men nd women nd their reactions to “physical” nd “emotional” cheating. Experiments have been held wherein a wmn wud b told her man was jokin nd laughing with a beautiful wmn @ the office nd that “they’d never seen him this happy wid a wmn b4”. The woman wud feel more distress then if she was told her man physically cheated. OTOH, a man wud b told his lady was being rent in Twain by a man nd really enjoyed it such tht she was “screaming for more”. The man wud go insane wid rage whereas it wud barely register if he was told his lady was cryn wid laughter @ another man’s jokes. Causal Variables wud be intro’d like “psychosis” or “drunk” and it wud sway wmn’s opinions but hardly @ all men’s. On avrg, women were far more considerate and forgiving than men. And so, keep in mind there r more men then wmn on twitter.

I actually know Agnes (I'm doing a salon with her in April!) and I think her story is genuinely more complicated than you're making it seem. For one, she's not polygamous or polyamorous. She's in one relationship with one man and her ex-husband lives with her. That's a housing arrangement, not a relationship arrangement. I'm not Catholic as a bit and I don't approach everyone else as though they are Catholic. I guess I try to meet people on their terms? I don't think me sitting around pointing out that everyone else is failing to be a pious Catholic would be particularly great content. I myself fail to be a pious Catholic, so it would also be hypocritical. I don't know man. The holiest, most God-loving, pro-life Catholic person I know is a live-and-let-live person. I think there's something to that. The older I get, the less willing I am to pass judgment on people's shit. I get that we're the Church militant and it's everybody's responsibility to be an evangelist. I'm just less certain than I used to be that the proper method there is antagonism or argument. "They'll know we are Christians by our love" etc. Anyway, this is sort of rambling. I take your point—Anna and Dasha may be better Christians than I am. These are just a few things that have been on my mind lately.
