Silky WIP #15

No more green zipper! The corset is topped in pink and with a matching pink zip in the back. It's a little spacious around my upper ribs, but that's fine, since I need to shove her poofy shirt in there anyway.

Next: more pink trim on the capelet and finally the tassels! Then hooks to keep it closed.

More Casual Ann (Letter Jacket)

My letter jacket came in! So maybe my outfit is little off, but I still think it's cute. I can totally see myself wearing this around casually.

I'm not a huge fan of these shoes with the black leggings (actually those are my work pants, so actually leggings would be more slimming, but still).

I'm going to try to get as many decent photos as Ann in these outfits as possible and then release...

Silky WIP #13

I haven't been able to get across town to the fabric store, so I am without a actual zipper and the trim for the top of the corset... But since the corset boning came in, I wanted to test it out and get an idea of the fit without always having to hold on to the back of the darn thing... So I stitched in a temporary zipper~

(Yes, Silky's bodice does not feature corset lacing like I originally tho...

Silky WIP #13

Capelet has its first row of pink trim attached to the dark purple trim and has been sewn together. Now the mannequin no longer needs to bare her goofy bikini top.

The lining is also prepared to go inside of it. Next up: Sew in lining. Stitch on other pink trim and white tassels. Attach collar.

Oh, Calamity!

The "light" that arrived at my house turned out to be the wrong item. I managed to sell it to a photographer friend and ordered the correct lights, at least. ^^; They'll be here this week because I was able to use Amazon Prime, but for now, please think of your Christmas Ann prints as your unofficial December signs.

This is how I make decisions... xD Gotta set everything up for a perfect visual. If I didn't have the corset pinned onto the mannequin, I would probably drag it into this mess, too.

After much deliberation, I have decided to trim the cape in pink, and then trim the bonnet ribbon in a slightly darker pink that matches the sleeves. :P

After some hilarious misadventures getting the shape of my shoulders figured out, I finally made a shape I am happy with for Silky's capelet.

Unfortunately, when it was time to add the contrast trim and fringe, I abruptly decided that I was no longer a fan of the very stiff and textured fabric I had used. While I like adding elements to costumes to make them seem like costumey, this one just did...

Silky WIP #10

Hemmed up the bottom of the corset! I also ordered the boning to stuff inside of it and make it firm and more corset-like, but currently there is a really nice stiffness and heaviness to it that I am not used to with my usual bodices. I like it! I have accomplished something new, and it's a good feeling.

I have yet to get a good look at this outfit of hers, but here is my interpretation of it! Might be nice to have a different belt, but I just dug it out of my closet. The only thing purchased specifically for this purpose is the shirt dress (which could use a good ironing).

Dancing Star Night!

Finally took the time to collect both promo art and in-game refs of Ann's outfit and Makoto's (who shall be cosplayed by my friend, Azariah). 

I can't wait to have a nice hip hoppy cosplay ensemble. No, I will NOT dye Ann's wig  just gets some extensions. The sweater I will buy from my dearest Aelynn's Storenvy... Time to go shoe shopping... *eyes gleam*

Silky WIP #8

Ohhh dear. This is almost in one piece, minus accessories like the ruffles, flowers, and ribbons. I just need to glue/sew the inner ruffles into the brim so they stay there and don't crowd around my head because this bonnet is getting tight on my wig as it is...

What's new: I shortened the brim, lined the body, and added the ruffle.

Got some work down on the corset tonight! I lined it, and it is ready for me to add the steel boning... Once I get some.

It almost LOOKS like a real corset, making it the most structured bodice I have put together. Hopefully it will fit me nicely and not be awkward over the skirt...... ^^;;

This doesn't look like it changed much from the last photo, but I shaped the top and bottom (removing the useless straps) and added channels for the boning to eventually go into. I know it is difficult to see, but even though it isn't perfectly formed to my body, it is started to look and feel much more structured. Kind of like a real corset, but not quite.
