Damn, I wish all pages were mostly background-free eyeball closeups. This was so fast to complete.

The brush file I use for lines

Multiple people have asked for this brush. iirc it's a modified version of the Clip Studio Paint design pencil. I normally have anti-aliasing off.

I don't think it's particularly special, but have fun with it or w/e.

More named human characters, yay. Also, Talita approaches some members of The Swarm.

Got this one finished on stream. That was fun.

Ink Doodles January-February

Mild nudity warning because there's female-presenting nipples in here. Fortunately I think you all will survive witnessing crosshatched boobs.

I got a pretty incredible flex nib pen recently from Bluedew pens. Flex nibs are usually several times stiffer than this and don't have nearly as much line width variation. All the orange doodles and the pastel purple are drawn with the Bluedew. View Post

Here come the overstimulation beasts. Close up of some signage I spent way too long on:

They mean approximately the same thing.

Talita really doesn't wanna talk about! (She would rather suffer than be An Inconvenience).

I'm not sure how Mel can tell the phones are quantum at a glance. Maybe because they're single units and most phone/mobile tech in RttS is modular... quantum phone manufacturers bringing back the iphone minimalism aesthetic? (They mostly look like that because I have to draw piles of them and I don't wanna die)

February Stream Requests

Reminder:

THIS IS THE LAST STREAM REQUEST. I'm going to be retiring the $20 stream commission tier after this one. I don't currently have plans for a new commissions tier, because I'd like to focus on finishing my book this year.

I'll keep doing art streams after this one, but I'll be using them to stream work on RttS comic pages and some of the t...

Getting back on the RttS ball. Excited to be drawing future pages with less complicated establishing shots.

Dominic tried to take her helmet off before the pressure finished equalizing. It's not fully safe to disrobe until the interior door opens.

New Streaming Schedule

Hey gang, first of all, sorry for being kind of quiet this month. First I was frantically preparing for a convention, then at a convention, then my mood crashed post-convention and I spent several days as a depressed blob that spent most of their time sleeping. It's ok, I got better. The next convention I'll be at is Emerald City Comic Con in early March. I don't have any other solid plans for ...

Dec-Jan Ink Doodles

The comic here is a fragment of a scene that will probably happen in a book, at some point, minus all context. Avian "crying" is a lot more subtle than human and centaur expressions.

There's some Maulu in here too. I think 40-something Talita is going to be a minor character in the short story he's in.

Comic PDFs!

Here's some comics I'll be selling at Furcon 2023 (very soon, 1/13-1/15) and online (slightly less soon). They're mostly spiffed up versions of webcomics I've published online.

Since Patreon support is what allowed me to make these, you lot get the pdfs for free, and whenever Growth Chart physical copies get listed in the store patrons will get a 50% discount (nearly at cost). I'm n...

Oil and Water: Page 3

This page was delayed several hours by a discussion about cooking methods in microgravity. Boiling water is dangerous in space, because instead of steaming, it just swells up with bubbles until it "boils over." Microgravity makes a lot of things inconvenient in unexpected ways. The microgravity cooking equipment tends to spin or press things or put them in bags.

I'm gonna avoid going into...

January Stream Requests

Reminder:

I'm going to be retiring the $20 stream commission tier after February 2023. It's had some issues that I haven't found any great solutions to, namely the fact I am chronically non-punctual and there's no way to automatically flush the tier every month and give new people a chance to get a commission slot. I don't currently have plans for a new commissions ti...

Oil and Water: Page 1

Another short comic. I started this ages ago and then stalled because I wanted a proportional interior model of the Runaway. I do now, but I'm kind of kicking myself for not finishing this earlier anyways because now I'm fanatically trying to complete 4 colored high-detail pages during a holiday week, 2.5 weeks out from needing it in a printed booklet.... urggghh. More pages coming. Very soon.<...

WIP: Rolling Hexapodal Sprint

My fixation on hexapod gaits continues. I liked the Bipod-B animation (second gif) a lot, but it didn't feel nearly fast enough for the top speed I was proposing for centaurs. Part of the issue is why it has that name. The legs in the gait act in pairs, with two feet generally on the ground at any given point in the cycle. Most of the fastest runs in the animal kingdom have single point contact...

I didn't expect to hit another Patreon goal this year! Thanks so much to everyone who just joined to see baby Talita (she is very charming, I understand). There's a lot more comics in the comic tag that never left Patreon, If you wanna poke through there.

As promised in the goal I'll be hosting a third character AMA, but do to my current schedule, it will have to be in, uh.... March...

Talita Arrives at the Foster Home

Talita Growth Chart: Page Inserts

I've been adapting a bunch of the short stories+worldbuilding I've posted onto the internet into a 40-page floppy comic, mostly comics of Talita growing up (I have posted... a lot more than 40 pages worth of comics). These are insert pages dividing the different eras of Talita's life, minus the blurb text that I'm still finishing writing.

Most of the comics I've posted on the internet ar...

Con Banner Update

Been busy this month with, among other things, convention prep. My banner was due for an update because Talita looks very different now, and is my most recognizable character, which was a bad combination on the old flag. I included both so you can compare this to the 2018 version for funsies.

The banner is 8 by 2.5 feet, and everyone on it is to scale— which is why Talita is stoop...

November Doodles and Etc

Not a huge amount of them this time, because I've been feeling pretty burnt out and using up the art energy I do have finishing up projects for con prep, book, and store stuff. Still trying to figure out what the hell I want to do for the book cover. Anything but the characters standing in front of a disconnected background.
