War Priest world map

I actually do have a map I've been working on for War Priest. It isn't very fleshed out, but maybe I'll get it done in time for the second book release.

If you haven't reviewed War Priest, please do so! It really helps me continue this series. I'm just getting back into it now, and I'll post some previews for Patrons here in the future (as long as you don't mind reading my rough drafts....

Tokens and Towers Vol 1 chpt 8

Chapter Eight: Almost Bludgeoned in a Dungeon

Everything was dark by the time I awoke, my body aching, my head throbbing, my mouth dry. Yuck.

“Rer-ree…” I said, only then realizing that the gnomes had gagged and blindfolded me, not to mention the cold hard steel cuffing my hands behind my back. There was a smell too, one of stone and sweat, pani...

Chapter Seven: Revenge of the Gnomes

When you boil it down, everything in life, and apparently in Genera, is some sort of bait-and-switch. Case in point: while hungry, I was stoked as hell to be able to do something with the whopping two skill points I’d received from completing Drozard’s half-baked challenge. Sure, it was only two measly points, but I should have b...

Chapter Six: Loot or Die, There is No Try (Clovis Gets a Mustache)

The village ahead seemed promising, and it would give us a chance to get a lay of the land before we continued toward the tower, our shared destiny.

Retail therapy was on the agenda now that I had enough Coin to buy Mercer Island and clone a shitton of beefed up Conor McGregors in thick Richard Mil...

Chapter Four: Just My Luck

The urge to take a victory lap had never been higher. Screw my life back in Portland, Oregon; to hell with my middling fantasy back catalog wasting away in the digital wasteland or yellowing on the shelves of a used bookstore; and to all the readers who had let me borrow their headspace to tell my stories, thank you and good night...

Paco from Cowboy Necromancer

If you want to read more about Paco's tribe (Hopi) from Cowboy Necromancer, here's an article.

Speaking of Cowboy Necromancer - Next may I will publish the final book in the Infinite Dusk, Infinite Dark, and (new book) Infinite Dawn trilogy.

I'm heavily contemplating writing more, but through a new trilogy. These books would be shorter because I'm not contractually ...

Future Pilgrim cover idea

I don't yet know how many books Pilgrim will run. Right now, I'd like it to go a long time. It just feels right. Once I do finally get to the end, I'll likely commission a cover like this image above, Danzen crouched,  finally wearing white robes, stones floating around him.

You saw it here first - by this time next year, I'll have 6 Pilgrim books out... keep spreading the series, r...

Sword research!

Some of the research for War Priest and Pilgrim... :-D

Off to DragonCon - I'll post some updates!

The music of Pilgrim

I almost exclusively write Pilgrim to this looped song from Aphex Twins. If you vibe on Pilgrim, part of the reason (for me anyway, the creator) comes from how this song makes me feel. It just screams Danzen to me, and even after hearing it 1000s of times (seriously), I still can't get enough. Enjoy, and extra challenge - put this on next time you read Pilgrim!

I feel sorry for my Cowboy Necromancer narrator

I have really been pulling out some tough words for this one, but I can't resist using the area around this mountain for a later scene. And that translation--there's so much in Utah!

Before there was Hiccup, Roger, Jelmay, etc

Before there was all of these characters, there was Meosa.

Yes, Meosa, the cantankerous water spirit from War Priest. Seven years ago, I wrote a series that never really saw the light of day and one of the supporting cast members was a water spirit named Meosa, who traveled around with the MC commenting, being a pain at times, but also coming to his aid.

I have always wan...

Hidden Warrior Sickness (from War Priest) Primary Document

The idea of a Hidden Warrior sickness, which is mentioned in the second part of the first book is something I discovered in a single passage from a translation of True Path of the Ninja.

I really like the idea of how this works with the concept of an illusionist who has gone so deep into tricking the world that they have now tricked themselves of this utopia that exists only within ...
