After a series of working on ref sheets, getting back to illustration actually felt nice. It was like returning to work after a vacation, refreshed and full of energy, but without the gloom XD. I really love this time of year, it’s so atmospheric. So the urge to make themed artworks just comes naturally.

I noticed that this gonna be the first non commission illustation of this month. Reference sheet commissions took me much time, so guess this month reward are gonna be a bit smaller. I’ve been thinking about making artworks that are simpler in terms of rendering but more frequent. This piece, along with a few upcoming ones, will follow that approach. The work on this commission went quite smoothly. The theme was clear from the start, so there were no issues with creating the pose. I thought I would have to struggle with the waves, but they turned out pretty well. The only thing I’m not fully satisfied with is how the face came out — it could definitely have been better. But that’s an old weakness of mine that I still need to work ...
