Note: there will be one more chapter after this in the current "batch", releasing Friday. I think the burst releases work really well for me, and apologize if they don't work as well for you. When Worth the Candle is over, we'll probably be doing some other method and simplifying my workflow for the next project.

Chapters! These are part of a clustered release, as the others are still in editing and I find it much easier to do this way, the others will be out relatively close behind these, with chapter 245 being the final one that's written.

This will be the last chapter for a bit while I finish up the next set. As always, you can find the word count spreadsheet here, which contains estimated dates (when I have them).

Just a single lonely chapter this time, largely for pacing reasons. The next will be Saturday, or possibly pushed to Sunday, and after that, I'm not sure (though writing has been going well lately, at least in terms of output).

New chapters! Two more are written and will be a part of this "set", separated for reasons that should be obvious once you read them. (I'm also writing as I edit, which I think helps keep energy up, and in theory reduces downtime between chapters.)

Release "schedule" for the next few chapters will be a little bit different. The next six chapters after these two are written but not edited, so should be out relatively fast, divided into (what are hopefully) coherent narrative chunks that give better pacing than if all eight were out at once.

No one asked for this, but here it is anyway, a fairly quickly-written non-canonical alt-timeline Christmas special. (It was about three days between 'heh, it would be funny to write a non-canon Christmas episode' to 'welp, this thing exists now'). Hopefully you'll enjoy it!

Variations is a short story that I mostly wrote for fun, set in the same universe as Worth the Candle but without connection to the main plot. I was trying to write something a little bit slice-of-life, but it doesn't quite hit that mark; I do think that it hits its own mark, and am fairly happy wi...

New chapters! Note that there's 48 hours until non-early birds can read these. I'm on the fence about whether or not that should be the new normal, but I've had a positive experience with both that, and splitting a large batch in twain, since it allows more time for editing, more ability to be nimble in responding to comments or feedback, and a bit more discussion. (Splitting the batch in parti...

New chapters! There are two slight differences this time. First, the batch is overly large, so I'm splitting it in half, which should work well narratively. Second, the early birds window is being enlarged to 48 hours for this release, mostly to see how it feels.

Hello folks, back from the word mines once more, with more words. (If you're curious how I'm doing in terms of the pandemic, life is more or less normal, but preschool is closed, which means I'm seeing a lot more of my son. I'll do my best to not let that affect writing output too much.)

Here, finally, are some chapters. Schedule is a bit weird here, mostly because I got sick twice while writing these, with the latter time developing into bronchitis. Writing while sick is a bit of a poor proposition, since the words will come, but they'll take more time and effort to edit, and sometimes I'll have to scrap things that I thought were a good idea while barely functional.

No, it's not some chapters (sorry), but the worldbuilding doc is "done", though I would probably have doubled its length if I had let scope creep happen. It clocks in at 43K words (the "brief" is tongue-in-cheek).

Sorry for the wait. I've been working on the worldbuilding doc and semi-successfully attempting to prevent burnout/depression.

Amaryllis Art! More in the future. I've been finding the commissioning stuff surprisingly difficult, both in terms of working with someone else, and trying to translate prose into pictures in a way that evokes the feeling of the text (which I care about more than strict accuracy).

Just a single chapter this time, though it's fairly long. Also, this story is now on Royal Road (with some reservations), which shouldn't impact the story in any way.
