I'm on the fence about whether or not that should be the new normal, but I've had a positive experience with both that, and splitting a large batch in twain, since it allows more time for editing, more ability to be nimble in responding to comments or feedback, and a bit more discussion. (Splitting the batch in particular meant that I didn't have to think of the batch as a whole, but I'm probably not doing that again unless the word count gets away from me.)

Splitting batches if they're plot/cliffhanger convenient is also good. Plus the word count's been surprisingly higher since the pandemic - I was expecting less and/or longer release times since your last warning about having less time during the week.
