Coffee and In-Flight Drinks

I wanted to give a little update as I drudge through pages of the last part of this scene. Here's some cleanup shots and test lighting. While Titus goes pinky up on the coffee, it seems Satri starts the sauce early on the morning flights lol.

A City of Cats

Welp, maybe this is why the comic is taking longer than usual. What have I done? Maybe I'm a masochist lol. This NPC nightmare I've created for myself was an attempt to really give a big BIG shot of the world to make it feel alive. Sparse streets and distance shots only work so much of the time. I really wanted to convey a sense of a bustling population, so here it is!

Indy Comic Con

Welp, it was my first debut into the big time. Attendance was roughly 30-50K. It was MUCH bigger, lots more competition, but I had a great time! I sold a few prints and 25 books, so that's a start! My booth neighbor was also very cool who helped pass the time. I've added some images and doodles during the trip.

Oh yes, there was a Delorean. WOOOOO!

More Coffee Drama

Flats are getting put in along with a lot of drama surrounding those woeful barista experiences. This one is for all those who have worked in the service industry. I get it. You get it. We must stop the Keith's and Karen's of the world lol.

Too much coffee

As an update, I've still got a long way to go fleshing out this scene. It was getting so long that I had to divi up the work and do some 2nd pass polishing on pages before I was even done drawing the scene hehe. My average page sequences tend to run between 5-8 pages, but I think this one is going to push a solid 10-14 which is a monster of work. It doesn't help that many of the scenes are outd...

As a quick follow up, I filled out the coffee shop! I'm trying to get brave with lots of characters in scenes when I can since I want to show the abundant life and crowds that live in the city. Anyway, here's the initial sketch.

Ballroom Dancing and Absurdity :3

These are two items from a stream last week. I had asked what the draw since I was blank that night and someone said "Kepler and Luna" as they saw my cat cam that I have setup also. I took that as a request so I drew my own pets ballroom dancing. Maybe it's a little odd, but it was good practice lol.

Getting some flats in

I try to at least keep weekly updates coming despite the comic being in between volumes. Some weeks have more content than others depending on my life schedule. Anyway, here's a screenshots with flats colored in. Rendering is about to start. :)

Ok I normally don't do this, but I had to add a couple more. Lily has never been for one to enjoy dressing up, but she's coping haha.

I decided to also include Titus even though he's a bit older. The attire he's in is actually more of a concept and something you might see coming up in Volume 3. (wink wink)

I have some company in town and decided to visit IFC in what I believe is the worst registration line since Anthrocon. I've sat in nearly the same place for an hour with no end in sight, so here I am sitting on the floor in a hotel making an update for Patreon haha.

Welp, Volume 3 is officially underway! It's going to be another looooooong 3+ years, but hopefully I'll have the Patreon release ready by next fall. I'll continue to post frequent product shots, updates, random one-offs, news, etc... but here's just ONE panel from page 1 roughly sketched out. (very very rough).

I first want to give a huge thank you to everyone that has supported me through this project! It truly does mean a lot! Summertime Nostalgia

Summertime Nostalgia (WIP)

I'm always a bit reluctant to post WIP's in my feed, but sometimes a WIP can have a different effect than the finished product, so here it is so far. I mainly wanted to capture a mood with this piece, a sense of nostalgia with a monochromatic palette, using that warm late afternoon summer sun at golden hour.

I do realize there might be some Calvin and Hobbes -esque nods to this piece, but...
