Thank you all so much for joining me! Fab afternoon and a giraffe drawn in 21/2 hours :)
We'll definitely do something like this again very soon as it just gets us drawing, not worrying about things and having a chat which is fabulous :)
Have a lovely rest of your weekend

Here you are - I'll be sharing to youtube in the next few days, but you get to see it first!
What a fab little projector! Half the price of the larger ones, and yes the resolution isn't quite a sharp, but it does the job very very well, it's tiny, and it's incredibly easy to set up and use.
Use my code IMPACTBSNOWDON for £10 off. The Pico 2 has been selling particularly well and is...

Don't forget to join me on Sunday at 2pm for the live draw challenge - I've drawn my giraffe out, I'm using 5x7" lightfast paper for mine - I've even used the pico genie impact 2 to project the image for the outline :)
You can use whatever surface you want, and whatever pencils you want - we're going to draw together, it's going to be speedy, as we're going to try and get it finishe...

This is a video from last year that I ran in one of my Art Club Sessions - there are lots of you who are asking for help with equipment and information so I thought I'd share this one with all the tiers.
It's from a zoom session, I try to give you amazon links etc for the equipment, and show you editing software and my camera.
Hope it's useful :)

A friend of mine rescues ponies and rehabs them - I saw this pic and though OMG I have to draw him! So I thought this could be a speedy one maybe on the black colorfix or mount board - but isn't he the cutest!

NB when I mention light flesh 5% at around 4 minutes I actually mean Dark Flesh 5% :)
Another colour recipe for you. This time it's the highlights in dark bay. Those gorgeous orange/pink highlights that you often get - how do you incorporate those into the darker colours.
I've included a portion of the ref photo just so you get an idea of the colours - I'm not aiming to match ...

Black fur is loads of fun to draw, but comes with all sorts of challenges - highlights, shadows, colours. So this month's beginner's video is all about the black fur colour, and what better subject than a black lab. I had a black lab on a recent poll, which didn't get through, but it's stayed on my lis...

Hi all, if you're new and finding Patreon a little odd to navigate, don't worry you are not on your own lol!
For some reason many of you don't find the member's area I have created, it's a post pinned to the top of my feed so should be visible, but I know many of you haven't seen it.
I am working on a better way of communication with you all as currently it comes purely from P...

First part of the tree frogs tutorial.
I had a lot of fun with this one - it took a little while to get the techniques right and the colours right. I started using the Icarus board part way - and found that it was by far the easiest way of getting rich colour onto Fabriano.
You don't have to use heat, and you don't have to spend a lot of money on an icarus board, you can buy a repti...

Part one of the tonal dog study. The video files are slightly lighter than the finished piece due to the lighting.
This is a very simple project, using just the black poly (bit of sepia at the beginning but I ditched it) and kneadable eraser and tombow.
This piece is best done quite quickly - don't worry about details, the whole point of this tutorial is around tonal values and is m...

This is the first month I'm holding the live draw challenge. I've chosen a piece I think we can pretty much finish - it will be speedy!
This piece I'm not giving you anything other than the ref photo, so you choose your own colours create your own line drawing and choose your own surface.
It's going to be fast but fun - this is all about coming out of your comfort zone, having...

Sorry about the wait! I tried to upload all in one video and it just didn't want to render it.
▶️ Try not to touch the surface of the paper - it marks easily - use glassine or a paper towel under your hand at all times
▶️ Don't put the whiskers in at the beginning! I've added a note to the video, but they go in much much better right at the end.

I've recorded part of this commission for you to show how I use different colours for greys. Mixing warm and cool shades, plus adding violet, blue, pink, orange and yellow can really bring a grey animal to life, but the key is to keep it so that people don't notice the colours.
