Swamp's Edge [30x40]

Bubble bubble toil and trouble. Spooky season is upon us once again. This map set brings you a classic encounter with your local hag living at the edge of a swamp. Or a shady bandit hideout. Haunted house. So many possibilities.

This set features both individual maps and a phased map. I love a good phased map that shows the progression of a corruption or curse happening. This one original...

Equinox Glade [30x40]

A bit of seasonal nostalgia this month as summer starts to wane into autumn for some of us in the northern hemisphere. This map was inspired by a scene that played out in a homebrew game some 10+ off years ago. The setting was a forest cave that opening up to the sky, allowing roots and vines to form the ceiling and crawl along the stone walls.

This peaceful glade may hold some hidden s...

Triad Ruins [30x40]

A stroll through the woods brings the party to a trio of unsuspicious ruins. Broken towers and columns rise out of the tall grasses along the hills. Was this once tall site taller and beaten down by the ravages of time? Or has it been buried in the earth and the true entrances lay below?

This one started as a Greco-Roman Ruin inspiration, but pretty quickly morphed into something more mos...

Mushroom Forest [30x40]

A bit of whimsy for this month's map as we venture into a fantastical forest of giant mushrooms.

I typically paint dark and moody images, so this was a fun deviation from the norm. I really wanted to go back to one of the very first maps I did and reuse the color palette or soft blue greens for the foliage. There was something magical about the color in a subtle way.

The variant...

Watchtower Ruins [30x40]

Winds howl across the barren land. Flitting from rocky outcrop to sparse overhangs, the party navigates the open landscape. Easy targets for an aerial ambush. They make their way to the only shelter; a lone tower perched at the edge of a cliff. Is it long abandoned? Or are less than friendly occupants waiting for unprepared visitors?

A fairly simple map for this month, but also ...

Sunken Shrine [30x40]

The damp, salty sea air clings to you just as surely as the chill seeps into your bones. The tower stands firm against the wrath of the ocean gods, but holds no comfort or safety within. A lonely monument to those lost to the depths.

You descend down into the darkened stairs, careful of the cracks weeping sea water and tiny denizens scurrying about. A faint light emerges from...

Basalt Lair [30x40] - Red Dragon Lair

Rising heat. The choking stench of sulfur fumes. Basalt columns rise to form a cathedral of volcanic rock. Across the floor lay the stone remains of a dragon fallen long ago; now turned to stone. Or perhaps some cult shaped the molten rock in one's image. Watch your step as you search for secrets within the flames. You never know when the floor might melt beneath you....

Forest Explorer [90x90]

Returning to some old favorites of mine, the month's feature is a monster of a map. The largest I have ever painted...and not something I'll undertake lightly again. I've been getting out and about doing some winter hiking and plein air painting and had the itch to create another wilderness set...dreaming of warmer temperatures sunshine, and green things.

The entire painting wa...

Cavern Cold [30x40]

Underneath and through the grinding ice, brave adventurers trek to world of frozen caverns. Creaks of the moving glaciers above resound like thunder. The slight trickles of melt water glisten off the blue walls. Bone chilling cold brings an added layer of loneliness to the area. In the distance, shadows and darts of light play off the walls. Something moves within the ice...

Winter Royale [40x40]

Kicking off the month with a bit of festive fun for everyone. This is just a bit of silliness as the winter cold starts to creep in for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. Intended to be a fun little one shot map for a battle royale or quirky puzzle adventure. For copywrite purposes, I can neither confirm (nor deny) the giant treasure chest is a mimic...but I'll let you all fabulous and tri...

Hall of Stars [30x40]

Footsteps echo off in the distance of abandoned halls. Shadows of trees long turned to stone grasp for the passing strangers. At the corridor's end, a glint of light bounces off blackened mirrors. Was this once a grand banquet hall? An audience chamber? Small stars appear gleaming in the stonework. Old tales creep into the mind of shadowed fae and mirror magics.

Old magic a...

Tower Falls [30x60]

Winds whistle through the canyons carrying the scent of green things and crystal waters. Sunlight warm the rockface as the party scales cliffs downward; picking up the trail of bandits concealed in a cave...or a beast guarding secrets in its lair. Or perhaps this is simply another stop on the journey through the Underdark.

This set started as a part 2 to the Green Dragon Lair; meaning to ...

Enter the dense woods to home of an ancient forest guardian. Standing in the clearing, the skeletal remains of drakes long since perished rise up, struggling to fight the forest reclaiming grown. Fire Temple [30x50] - Journey to the Underdark Pt 2

Journeying father into the depths of the earth, the party comes to a grand cavern. The scent of sulfur and molten rock stifles the air. As the heat beckons, the party winds down a crackling stone staircase cut into the rocky floor. Before them lies a bridge of stone pillars, leading the way to a fiery entrance. What can be found in the chamber ahead? An abandoned temple? The lair of some forgot...

Fey Ruins [30x40]

A quiet forest path. The sweet scent of spring and tang of ancient magics in the air. The party stumbles upon the stones of an old building. A shrine? Or the last remnants of a larger structure? Perhaps this is merely a relic to forgotten times; waiting for the day the forest finally reclaims the carved stones. Or perhaps there is more meaning in the location: a meeting place, sacred memorial s...

Elemental Pools [30x40]

Journeying across more mysterious lands the party hears tales of a dried pond in the middle of the barren grasslands. Cradled by a crescent moon, the water remnants pool in colorful puddles. Tinted by minerals...or arcane components? Each one a window into another world holding secrets.

Something a little different and fun for this map set. I was interested in creating a sort of wild nexu...

Void Nightmare [30x50]

Return to the Astral Sea and discover the guardians of The Void. Swooping through the endless space, the Nightmare seeks to consume all it finds in the cosmic wasteland. Is this creature native to the astral sea? Or a wanderer, far from its home and trapped in an unknown realm.

This was a really fun one to work on, and definitely helped to reignite the creative juices. I love a good astra...

The Alchemist's Hut [30x30]

Hello map mages! Here's a little free map set for you. This was a quick sketch map I did last month and polished up a bit. Nothing super fancy to it, as I've left it fairly bare of tiny detail furnishings so you can theater of the mind.

Here we are folks, the first part of a larger Underdark/cave series that I've been working on. I love a good cavern crawl, but always found that cave maps tend to be more function over form.
