Some Prep Work

I want to do one more animation test, but this time with something a bit more complex than a simple x-ray panel. It's all the same process, just a few more moving parts to deal with.

I find it easiest to not think too much about how it's all going to work at first -- just draw something and THEN figure out how it'll break down. Kinda like how I live my life. So that's what this is.

Not sure who may find this interesting, but thought I'd share. This is just some panel experimentation, sketch quality, with dialog -- not an actual page from the comic. Basically, playing around with "aspect to aspect" paneling focusing on subtleties rather than "action to action" just to see how it works. While my script for Storm's "Unwanted Houseguest" Chapter 1 is pretty damn faithful to the original, it is of course an adaptation. One of the things I did end up taking some liberties with is Beth's work uniform for her waitress job at the diner.

The idea is to just go with "bland, but not ugly" for him -- just a regular, uninteresting guy. Honestly, I don't care TOO much about what the guys look like, as long as they represent their characters well enough. With Beth (or any leading lady), I could do 1000 designs and never really find the ideal. Just the way it goes!

Some Animation Testing (Behind the Scenes)

I'm trying to figure out the best way to present a comic page with an animated panel, so please excuse the lack of any context or narrative on this. I just made a typical x-ray animation and tossed a couple of older sketches in there to populate the rest of the page.
