It sounds cheesy but I often feel very grateful to my models who are often putting themselves in very vulnerable positions for my photography. While photography makes me a bit of money these day provides a little bit of income these days, I can't afford to pay my models. In return for their time and effort I give them a copy of all the edited images to use how they choose.

There is not a photographer alive that is known for celebrity portraits, that started out photographing celebrities. It just doesn't happen. Everyone learns their craft in other worlds of photography then somehow gets access to a celebrity. If it goes well, then they get the opportunity to photograph another celebrity and if THAT goes well, it leads to more.
