Evan L. 8-30-15 #2 (One of the First Rhythms Using 16th Notes)

This was given to a student as one of their first strumming patterns working with 16th notes. The point of this rhythm is to show how you go from alternate picking the 16th notes then down picking the 8th notes and back to alternate picking the 16th notes. Doing this results in the strumming hand moving at the same pace the entire time. The quarter note provides a small mental break.

Brandon T. 5-17-19 #2 (Palm-Muted Drunken Gallop)

I like to call this rhythm pattern a "Drunken Gallop".

A regular gallop typically consists of one 8th note, then two 16th notes.

A reverse gallop typically consists of two 16th notes, then one 8th note.

Everything but the 2 and the 4!

This was given to a student to improve their 16th note strumming. What gives challenge to this rhythm is the lack of playing/strumming on the down beats of two and four.

Allan W. 6-4-20 #5 (Two Gallops - Two Reverse Gallops - Power Chords and Inverted Minor Chords)

This rhythm has two gallops, then two reverse gallops happening each bar. Bars two and three are using 2nd inversion minor chords, instead of standard power chords. This chord variation sounds great for metal music!
