A few alt versions for this! I wanted one that showed off that bodysuit he wears underneath the rest of his getup. Was also working on a 'lassoed and wrangled' alt but it was a bit ambitious of me! This boy is probably my favorite character from like, anything ever. For reasons! So I had to do a bunch of sketches to make sure I get his look down before starting. Tried out a few different poses and ideas before I settled on the bomb one!

Made a few major design decisions while going through this one, which you can probably see! Decided to try a new kind of 'cutaway' background panel rather than doing a full background. I think it came out rather stylish, if I do say so myself! Ditched the 'messy' frame around the panel as well, seemed too distracting imo.

So originally, I had a different font cuz I was trying to replicate the look of the notification window for Clippy, MS Office's bygone mascot. But it wasn't translating well with the colors I wanted to use, so I switched to my usual comic speech font instead.

Lately I've been favoring a 'lineless' look for the backgrounds. Just chunking out the shapes and then adding detail as I go along, and I think I'm getting pretty good at it! I think it helps the characters pop as the central focus of attention too.
