Sideloader ECX 12112023 | STL Files

My ECX version of the Sideloader. It works and you can see the image but I feel like that's not the correct approach.

It has built-in hardware mirroring which lets you see the image in proper orientation.

ECX Engine 1.1 | CAD Files

My newest version of the ECX Engine.

ECX Engine is the DiY Holographic display which uses the FLCoS display and ECX optics module.

You can use this to make your own AR device.

ECX Engine is better than previous holographic displays since it uses bigger optics and hardware image mirrors which means that you no longer need to mirror the displayed image using software.

Super important announcement about FLCoS display!

Turns out that when you buy the FLCoS display from AliExpress, there are actually two (or more) display driver boards that can be sent to you.

I have no idea what’s been changed between those two, as those seem to be exactly the same, but when you connect the 100mm ribbon cable, one of those boards will work fine but second one would only blink and turn off.

I’ve ran some tests,...

ECX Engine | CAD Files

My newest thing in the "Engine" collection.

This time it's a FLCoS + ECX optics combo which uses two combiner pieces (or 1 combiner and mirror) to show semi-transparent image in the real space.

The main thing in this design - Image is now physically mirrored.

This means that you don't have to enable any kind of software mirroring. Image will show up normal when viewed through ...

ECX333A Lense Sequence

Just a simple photo which will help you put the ECX333A magnifier back together.

1st on the left is on the bottom, 2nd goes on top of the 1st, 3rd on top of 2nd etc.

Sideloader RPiOS - V1.0 "Clean" Version

I've downloaded the original, newest Raspberry Pi OS image for the Raspberry Pi Zero and added some config parameters so that when you flash it on your SD card, it works with Sideloader straight away,

I've tested in on Raspberry Pi Zero and Raspberry Pi 3.

It works very well with the Sideloader but it could use some changes like lower resolution, slightly bigger text etc. I'm workin...

MakerWorld Update

I've published some of my older stuff on my MakerWorld account.

Everyone can go and grab those without any charge.

I didn't want them to go into obscurity since I don't work on those anymore and someone migh want to check them out :)

I've also added BambuLab print profiles so if you have a BambuLab printer, then you can print my stuff using only your phone.

Fully 3D Printed Halo

I was going to use a Plastation VR halo-styled head strap but I've guessed that people wouldn't like to buy used PSVR just to get the strap and use it with my project.

That's why I've been working lately on my own, fully 3D prinable, halo-styled head strap.

There's also a lot of space on the front, above the display, so you might place some really weird stuff there, like a full-blow...

Prototype 05102023

This is my most recent prototype for the AR glasses.

This one is dual-screen.

It may look goofy but it's actually the most ergonomic and comfortable thing I've made.

New Display Optics Teardown

I've fully dissasembled the optics module which comes with the new OLED micro display.

It was pretty big so I guessed it must've had more than two magnifying pieces but it turns out it has a total of 4 lenses inside which is crazy.

I'll see what I can make out of this.

I've also recorded a short video so it will be available soon.

Researching new frames for Onyx AR

I've made some new prototype frames for my Onyx AR Glasses.

Those still use the same display as previous ones but this time I've uesd regular sunglasses lenses which make it way easier to see the image outside or in well-lit areas.

It's also more regular-glasses shaped on the front which makes them appear more like regular glasses to other people.

It's jsut a prototype for now...

Onyx 2 Display ? 🤔

I’ve finally bought new, micro display which I’ve been looking at for the past couple of months. This one comes without the driver board and I’ve bought it mostly for research.

I’m going to tear it down and see what’s inside of it.

Display itself is bigger than my usual one, 0.4 inch vs 0.21.

Right from the get-go, I’ve noticed that magnifier is way higher qualit...

FLCoS Engine | STL files

This is my "FLCoS Engine".

It works as a most basic FLCoS display enclosure.

It now has built-in focus adjustment screw which is really helpful when there are multiple users with different eye requirements.

Basically it makes it way more compatible with wider range of people.

HDMI2AV Gerber Files

I've finally finished remaking the bigger HDMI2AV board.

Smaller one has still not been tested since I don't have the components.

You can essentially upload the zip file to the PCB manufacturer's site and order the (almost) exact clone of this board for yourself.

The 0.1 version is just for test, to see if I got the schematics right.

When it's greenlit, I will make...
