Sideloader 1.5.1 | STL Files

Fixed some minor stuff, put all of the electronics on the sides and made it multi-color.

There are two versions of the headband. One for my custom "Gyro Core" PCB and one for off-the-shelf components.

There's a GitHub page for it which contains the SteamVR software but it's still work in progress.

Sideloader 1.5.1 | CAD Files

Fixed some minor stuff, put all of the electronics on the sides and made it multi-color.

There are three versions of the headband. One for my custom "Gyro Core" PCB, one for regular Pro-Micro board and one for the Pro-Micro with USB-C connector. Last two can be bought in most electronics stores.

There's a GitHub page for it which contains the Stea...

Sideloader 1.5 Early Access | CAD Files

Hey Everyone !

This is a Early Access version of my newest Sideloader 1.5.

It uses FLCoS micro display, Mini HDMI converter and Arduino Pro Micro for the Relativty driver which enables SteamVR support.

Early Access version means that you get the files early and in return I get some more time to polish things up :)

It was meant to use my custom Arduino board with built-in...

Sideloader update

Most of the new Sideloader is now finished. I just need to iron out couple of things, finish making electronics covers and add a nose support.

I don’t know yet where I will put the Gyro module. I think it should be on the front but I don’t want to mess with the aesthetics.

It also has a new type of display hinge

HDMI 2 USB-C 0.1 | Gerber Files

I've re-created the HDMI to USB-C converter.

I've tested the converter with my HDMI adapter and I can confirm that both work together so pretty much you can use this to connect FLCoS or ECX display to phone, computer etc.

Didn't test the gerber files but I'm pretty sure they will work since it was a pretty simple circuit.

Display gasket ready

Display gasket for the new Sideloader FLCoS is pretty much ready.

As you can see, it’s heavily inspired by the google glass.

Its slightly taller than original one but you can fit whole FLCoS display without trimming anything and I think I could even fit a camera if I try.

I might design it to use with resin printers which will make it even smaller.

I think whole devic...

FLCoS Driver Board 0.16 | Gerber Files

Fully functional. Super easy pins for power and video wires.

Slightly smaller than original Aliexpress one.

New FLCoS PCB

My newest FLCoS driver board.

It’s fully functional but slimmed down.

It may not look impressive yet but I plan to further improve.

I plan for it to have built-in USB-C for both power and video signal. No more composite 😎

This basically means that my glasses will be compatible with phones and PC from the get go.

I’ve got a lot more ideas but I don’t want...

Onyx 2.0 - Preview 1 | CAD Files

The very first preview of my newest Onyx 2 glasses.

Those still use the FLCoS display. ECX glasses will have a different name than Onyx.

You can print them out, modify, wear or whatever you like.

No commercial use, science fair projects etc.

Revised FLCoS PCB

Brand new, revised FLCoS PCB

Purple tint is now gone and display works as intended.

There is some green frame around the image but I believe it’s just a raspberry Pi overscan thing.

FLCoS PCB 0.12 | Gerber Files

The very first, functional clone of the FLCoS driver board.

I've put it together myself and I can confirm that it's working.

For now, it's a 1:1 recreation. No mods.

I've got a component list ready (most of it at least). I will upload it in later posts. I just need to prepare a simple diagram for component placement.

Mañolo stamp of approval

I’ve finally got the clone FLCoS board right! 🎉

Display works fine with HDMI converter but it’s got a weird purple tint. It didn’t turn on at all at first so I’ve re-did the FFC connector soldering and it’s kinda working now.

I guess that it’s due to my wonky soldering. I’ve soldered whole board by hand 😎

ECX Driver Board Gerber Files 0.1

The very first gerber files for my reverse-engineered ECX driver board.

All of the connections are there but it surely could use some more work.

I think it would work no problem if you'd order it but right now all of the components have to be transferred from the original board. I've read out most of the component values but I still need to run some tests and check some stuff.
