The newest iteration of the 2.0 design.
I'm working on it everyday. I'm doing a lot of test prints to see how well stuff fits to my face. Don't wan't to show too much at this point but it gives you basic idea on how it may look like when finished.

I've been drawing the newest Onyx Glasses iteration for a while now.
I think this is my best attepmt yet.
This time I've gone for different look than before.
I've took some inspiration from HTC vive Flow but not much.
There are couple surprises coming but I won't spoil them yet.

Quick and simple guide on how to connect the Onyx 1.3.7 electronical components.
It's just 3 wires. Easy as pie.

Some people asked about the pictures of trimmed HDMI converter which I've used in my latest Onyx Glasses 1.3.7

I've made slight changes to the design.
It should be now more comfortable to use.

I was messing around with an idea for all-in-one, birdbath headset. This one has the Ir170 hand tracking module on top of the display assembly. I think it looks bit weird and I obviously didn't even 3D printed it. I've did this mostly as an excercise but I feel like I could pull it off with enough time and resources provided.
Lately all of the work on the Onyx glasses an...

If there are no mistakes in my schematic recreation (there might be some) then this is how small the HDMI converter can get.
I think I could get it to be even smaller by using smaller footprint parts. I will try to order couple of those boards and assemble them to see if I’ve had any luck with the design.
This would be a huge milestone for Onyx Glasses project 👓

Re-made whole HDMI converter board in eagle.
Only thing left is add proper GND bottom layer and it’s pretty much ready for fabrication.
Hope it will work this time!

I'm working on new version of the HDMI2AV board based on my newest trim.
I've removed some of the not required components.
I've confirmed on two separate boards, that this trim works fine.
I've already mapped out all of the traces and component positions.
Next, I will convert this into Eagle PCB file for easy manufacturing.

Here is what can you safely remove from the HDMI2AV PCB.
You can cut off all the stuff marked in red and it will still work fine.

Newest revision of the Onyx Glasses.
This one is final for now.
I'm going to focus on the software now so there won't be any major updates to the physical parts.
If you want to build them yourself then it's the perfect time to do so.
I'm also selling the "optical kit" on my Etsy store :

I've completely re-made whole frame.
Now it prints under 2 hours while laying flat on the buildplate.
The biggest change is the electronics "drop-in" system which lets you simply slide electronics into the plastic frame.
Those are my easiest to assemble glasses yet.

I've made new, better looking lenses for my Onyx glasses.
It's bit rough around the edges of the reflecitve surface but that's just a prototype.
It's definetly looking better now.

I've designed custom dual-feed mod for regular 3D printer hotends.
This way you can achieve dual color prints using normal printer.
It only requires second extruder motor and some software modifications.
I've seen similar stuff online so it's not a brand new thing but this one is mine.
I have not yet printed it out but it should work.

I've updated the Dual Z Axis mod for the Ender 3.
- More stability
- No screw washers required (but it's best to use them)
- Added logo for more style
