It's a bad omen and generally regarded as slightly evil to be born at sea, so it's not something you ever advertise. There's a superstition that the khert can't reach the baby to put in a soul, so a stormbringer slips in there instead. Sette rejects this outright; Jivi isn't nearly interesting enough to be a secret senet beast.

I really like the design of this Crescian guestroom. It's stupid with pymary, and creative, and ornately appointed; but at the same time not very warm or comforting. We saw Gefendur grave markers at the very end of Unsounded, when Quigley was laid to rest. These do look similar to those... but you can see the spars folded up on them. Definitely masts, even if their designer was going for something spooky. Maybe don't get handsy with 'em, sailor.

Prologue Preview Panels

25 page prologue finished as of this week! This will be posted all in one go in January. When I first started Unsounded, I posted the entire first chapter at once, and I've always felt that helped pull people right into the story. But here, have a few panels to chew on until then.
