Managed to get the Scootaloo fur pretty close to what I wanted! Just a tad pinker and darker than Raspberry (bottom). Crossing my fingers the pattern works out cuz I donāt have extra fur (I dyed only the pattern pieces)

Thinking about releasing an updated mare laying pattern! My old beanie laying pattern is really outdated and it would be easy for me to add a laying version. (Not exactly like Derpy but Iād probably use the limb shapes)

After much fussing with my sublimation printer I finally got the ink to penetrate deep enough into the fibers! It's almost at the base, which is good enough for me. There's barely any white showing, even at the hair points! Still a lot of experimenting left to do with the sublimation. I'll share more in detail soon.

I keep thinking Iām almost done, but then I need to keep making big changes. š I need to redo her front mane, side mane, and head. Tail and body needs minor adjustments.
Her wing pattern is new, and should be able to be machine sewn into the plush now. Her ears are machine sewn also, but they still need tweaking to be sewn in properly.

I bought an Epson ET-2803 printer to make some custom printed minky! Plushiluv had some really nice results and Iām really excited to give it a try! Iāve yet to buy the sublimation paper/ink, need to read around a bit more for the best brand etc. My friend gave me a heat press so Iām most of the way there.

I worked so hard on getting these pesky things just right. I used a combo of fusible thin batting (to make the inner ear stiff) and thin sew-in batting to give the back of the ear a little padding. Iām still working on trying to get them to machine sew into my head pattern easily. My previous ears used glue, plastic and a bunch of hand sewing, and honestly didnāt even look this nice lol. So...

Have really stiff minky that doesnāt feel soft at all? Use a steamer!!! I tried an iron first (and brushing up the nap) but it just made the minky even more flat and barely any softer. Then I remembered I bought a garment steamer for wig styling, and it was just the trick!

If you were curious of my floating embroidery method, I cut out the pieces, embroider an outline, then use 505 to position, pin solvy on top. Embroider. I like to use it for big pieces because it reduces waste of fabric/stabilizer/time. The stabilizer is actually a very heavy weight tear away (for hats) It doesnāt tear too great but it stitches nicely without being too heavy.
