The last three pages of the first chapter of Glory Bowl! Figuring out how to best do the splash panels on the last pages required a number of passes before I reached something I was happy with.

I did some development work (and now cover art) for a sci-fi body-swap comic called Glass Angel which will be launching January 1st at glassangelcomic.com

The mirror effect here I think came out really well, though it was trick to pull off.

I’ve come down with something that’s very likely Strep Throat. Haven’t had THAT since highschool. Anyway. I don’t feel great, so I’m gonna take a couple of days to let the meds kick in and get on the mend before pushing myself back to work. I appreciate y’all’s patience and understanding.

I don't think I ever actually watched the classic Star Trek episode "The Naked Time," but in it Sulu goes mad on the world with a fencing foil. And apparently this exchange between Sulu and Uhura happens. As I remember reading, Nichols adlibbed her response. Which I think is brilliant.

So here we have, Alvarez and Brinks recreating the scene. XD

November Pinup Suggestion Thread

Every month I draw a pinup based on the suggestions of you, the Patrons! I solicit ideas and sketch out the most inspiring ones (usually 5 or so) and submit the sketches to the Lifeguard Tier Patrons for voting. Whichever they chose becomes a full colored illustration by the end of the month.

So, if you've got a character or scene you'd like me to draw, leave it in the comments below!

Warm Up Sketch "Alice"

I quite enjoyed doing the warm ups throughout October. It's a great way to start things off, get into the groove as it were. So I'm going to keep at it. A little something, 15-20min noodling around to kick off the drawing part of my workday.  I'll also take prompts like I did last month. Not every day will be based off a prompt. Some of them will undoubtedly be things like character studie...

October Pinup: Everyone's Favorite Lifeguard

There were a lot of great suggestions for this month's exclusive pinup, and it came down to an incredibly tight polling of the Lifeguard Tier Patrons. It was so close it was indeed a tie!
So I cast the tie breaker, and we have the curviest lifeguard ever!

Q: Do you do other artistic things outside of drawing to relax like painting miniatures, or are all your hobbies completely non-art related? For that matter do you do anything outside of drawing or is it all comic work/Patreon work all the time?

A: I have quite a few hobbies, actually. Do I make enough time for them? No. Absolutely not.
