A smidge over 15 minutes of draw time. I think the water effect worked out pretty dang well, honestly.

A smidge over 15min here. Much like the diver girl, the impulse to keep refining and refining is strong. But the point of warm ups is to, ya know, warm up. Shake loose the muscles and get the hand and arm used to doing the movements of drawing again. This one might have benefited from me doing a quick underlay sketch. But it's still neat.

October Pinup Suggestion Thread

Each month I do a full color illustration based on the suggestions from you, the Patrons!

Everyone is invited to submit ideas, and the most inspiring ones (usually 5 or so) will get sketched out and submitted to the Lifeguard Tier Patrons for voting. Whichever sketch garners the most votes gets turned into a full color illustration before the end of the month!

Just a hair under 15 minutes on this one.  Bringing back some Hel'enah, Mistress of Hell vibes here. I'm going to have to introduce her if/when I come back to Demon Layer.

So, this wound up being two 15 min sketches because I was only so-so pleased with the first one (the full figure drawing). I wanted more... black on black or something. Anyway. Still kinda neat.

A little melancholic, this one. Took me 20-25 minutes. I could definitely push this one further. Mostly happy with the anatomy, though there are parts that definitely need adjustment still. People sitting is shockingly hard to draw.

About 20min on this one. I could keep refining it, of course, but that kind of defeats the point of a warmup. Still. Kinda neat. To do this one right, I really should have just dove into the colors and painted the girl in silhouette instead of sketching her out first. Would have saved time.

October Warm Up Sketch Prompts

A couple of years ago I gave the whole “Inktober” thing a try, and it was a lot of fun! So I want to try something similar again this October.

I want to do warmup sketches (probably 10-15min) based on prompts from you all!

By prompts I mean a one or two word phrase, like “skull bunny” or “ooo tentacles!” or “mountain pajamas.” Something simple to stir the imagination...

Legitimately, this lady seems like an amazing boss. A real team player.

August saw a lot of amazing suggestions for the monthly pinup. Some favorites returned, as well as some delightful new surprise suggestions! But ultimately, part three for the XXXtremely Casual Friday series took the win by an extremely narrow margin. Just one vote!
