Hmmm, Ian's going to think twice before he puts his precious "eggs" at risk with Saeko's teeth again. And she's been busy as well as opportunistic - Daniel and the Sensei?

2025-07-23 02:16:58 +0000 UTCThis reply has sparked a post of my own to respond to this great analysis. The title is important but appears nebulous. Its ambiguity is ripe and full and left for interpretation—and it does have meaning, too.

Bleak House... human habitation like the naked spread limbs of Da Vinci's exposed ratios. From behind a finely delineated craic.

2025-07-18 23:48:56 +0000 UTCI love the title, "Pinky Violence." I work in the field of instructional design, and a very important skill in that field is how to both capture and maintain "learner" attention. Three strategies for capturing attention are novelty, cognitive dissonance, and mystery; and I think this title does a great job in all 3 regards: 1. Novelty - The word "violence" is novel, surprising. It's also jarring, and maybe a little scary. 2. Cognitive Dissonance - Pinky Violence....How can a pinky be violent? It's the smallest, weakest finger. 3. Mystery - It's such an odd title that readers will wonder why, and may look to solve that mystery. Does someone die? What kind of "violence" occurs? Knowing your library, is "pinky" a nickname for a poorly endowed protagonist? Is this the story about his violence? Or is violence wrought by that little pinky dick itself? Maybe an infidelity? And that violence...Was it already performed, or yet to come? At any rate, great title! It captured my attention, and piqued my interest. That's for sure!
