Such a great reaction. The others are pretty decent as well, up until 6.

Top Secret, Val Kilmer's first movie. A favorite of mine.

If you enjoy these silly movies you should check out Top Secret which is a spoof of Elvis movies mixed with WWII movies. From the makers of Airplane & Naked Gun.

This movie did surprisingly well at the box office, and Hollywood being Hollywood, instantly started making sequels to ride that cash cow. Seven films in total, which is probably six too many. Police Academy was fine, but not sure it's a concept that can be stretched for the long haul, and they kept recycling jokes and character arcs for the returning cast instead of finding fresh angles. Steve Guttenberg (Mahoney) seemed to be everywhere in 80's. I've seen a few of his films recommended here. Cocoon may be one of the more highly recommended, but apparently it is not available on most streaming services and notoriously hard to find. Short Circuit and Three Men and a Baby probably rank among my favorites starring him.

Police forces have military style academies with strict requirements both physically and academically that we had to pass with certain criteria. There is also riot training as well as special task forces like S.W.A.T. Team, K-9. Narcotics, homicide, trafficking, family crisis, etc. and a lot of swat teams cross train with fire departments for back up in cities like New Port Beach, Huntington Beach, Carlsbad, as well as city and state lifeguards for heavy tourism is the summer

Classic comedy. Steve Guttenberg was huge back in the day. He and Tom Hanks were on similar career paths, but as the years went on, Hanks evolved and went on to do more dramatic roles and Guttenberg faded a bit from the public eye. These movies were very popular back in the 1980s. HBO showed them all of the time. Some of the humor in it would never be allowed in movies today, but I still think it’s a funny movie. I’m glad you both enjoyed it.

Amber I'm surprised you didn't recognize Samantha from sex in the City (Kim Cattrall) She was Mahoney's GF. Another great choice. As always Thanks for the Smiles.

Ken Ray

The big guy is Bubba Smith. He played defensive line for the Baltimore Colts and won a Super Bowl ring in SB V.

Ken Ray

The guy making the sound effects was able to do that with his mouth. No movie magic, just voice talent.
