GUYS!! I passed my first motorcycle test this morning ππ
The reason Iβve been so quiet these past days is because me and my friend, Millie, have been doing intense motorcycle training in preparation to take the tests to gain our licenses.
So, MOD 1 is the first test and I smashed through it at 9:10am this morning haha. The test consists of:
1. Manual handling (moving the bike on foot and re-parking it in a bay, proper tricky as a small person)
2. Slalom
3. Figure of eight
4. Slow ride
5. U-Turn
6. Controlled stop
7. Emergency stop (minimum speed of 48kph or 32mph)
8. Swerve avoidance (minimum speed of 48kph or 32mph)
Felt nervy upon arrival but soon chilled out, surprisingly! I was relatively confident going into this test because weβve been preparing so much, but one thing I was a bit unsure of was the swerve avoidance. In practice Iβd either not go fast enough or Iβd smash into a cone (instant fail if you do that at any point on the test).
Luckily we were working with much more space on the actual test grounds than where we were practicing, so it seemed easier to both get up to speed and swerve.
Annoyingly I was 1km/h too slow the first time (π) and had to try again haha, which gained me a minor fault but ultimately all good and I went 55kph on my second attemptβ¦and didnβt hit a cone!
I also gained a minor fault for pulling my clutch in a little early after completing the high speed manoeuvres, not the end of the world, Iβll take it!
I have MOD 2 tomorrow which is a βroad rideβ test, hoping itβll be quite simple as I drive a car and have been road riding for a year already (on Bobby π). Just hope I donβt get lost like I did in practice π
Anyway, wanted to share this with you because itβs been a big part of my week and Iβm proud of myself for stepping way out of my comfort zone. Tests & training aside, I find leaving the house hard enough as it is, so this experience alone is a massive achievement!
Hope youβre all having the best week π€
