Judson, you might want to consider joining Chosen One Reactions at her Patreon. She has been reacting to Xena for quite a while and is well into Season 5 as I speak and she LOVES the show :-) So far, she's the only reactor to watch the show on a regular basis.

I've long watched your Buffy/Angel reactions on youtube but when i saw your post that said you had reacted to the first Hercules movie, i simply had to peek into your Patreon to view! I'm really glad you enjoyed this first film as Hercules and Xena are two of my all time favourite shows and I think if you get to see more of Herc and eventually Xena too you will find it a very rewarding couple of shows to make your way through that truly have some landmark and iconic episodes in their run. Yes indeed there are the 5 opening movies (originally 4 but a fifth was requested after executives viewing the others and liking what they saw). Xena actually began after the first season of Hercules and runs concurrently with Hercules season 2. It's definitely better if you get into the shows to not skip any eps in my opinion as you'll get a lot more substance to characters that cross over on both shows and links to events that have effects across both shows too. They get better and better as they evolve and reach some really dramatic points at times. So i hope both shows will be on your future menu of viewing :-)

I got the chance to meet Kevin Sorbo at Comicon in Pittsburgh a few years back. No crowds to be had so I got to talk to him one-on-one for awhile. He is such a nice guy irl :)

After seeing the second film, the studio decided to male Herc a regular series (without even seeing the ratings.) This is absolutely one of my favorite shows of all time. I don’t know if anything tops it for me, possibly excluding Buffy. The romance between Herc and Hippolyta WAS a bit rushed, but Herc’s transformation I think is due to the effect of magic candles having you relive your entire life in two minutes to learn an ethical lesson. 😁 The ending was rewritten to bring Iolaus back, and that’s worth it for me, plot convenience or not. This kinda made my day. And I am hereby requesting the next movie, and will change my tier accordingly. So, see you next year! 😆 Kidding. 😉

2020-09-17 00:26:07 +0000 UTCOhh, hey, I love this movie. The way the series is set up, if you wanted to watch the TV series itself, you don't have to watch all the movies first. It still makes sense, and the show does a good job of catching you up. IF, you do decide to react to the show, you should react to Xena, too. I love Herc, but Xena was even better, and I think you'd really love that. If you chose to react to only Xena, you don't have to watch all of Herc, but there are crossovers, and there is a two part episode of Herc that introduces Xena's character. Xena can stand completely on it's own (except for the few crossocers), but it makes a lot more sense if you at least see those Xena-centric episodes on Hercules first. Have to watch the whole reaction later. Can't wait!
