They were led to a nearby table, and even with Robert and Luke loudly acting out, the surrounding customers only had indulgent smiles on their faces. Even Simon, whom Ezekiel knew, felt shy because of the environment was only scowling because of his instruction, so he looked like someone who was looking after rich kids.

Ezekiel knew that if they looked like beggars, instead of indulgent smiles, they would have met glares and insults, and someone would have complained, and then the restaurant would have asked them to leave or even throw them out.

It was the same everywhere. Earth or this new world. The world belongs to the rich and pretty.

When they were seated at the table, Ezekiel asked for the menu, which caused a bit of confusion for the waiter. Apparently, they didn’t have menus in this location, and the normal procedure was that the waiter would tell them the dishes that the chef cooked for that night, and they would choose from the list that the available for that night. Ezekiel guessed that it was because the literacy rate of this town was very low.

Ezekiel didn’t bother to listen to the menu and told the waiter to bring them one of each dish. Another man approached them, who was probably the waiter’s manager or something, and told Simon that they required a deposit for such a large order. He handed a gold coin to Simon, which their guardian handed to the maître d or whatever they call someone like him in this world.

The gold coin made the man smile, and he clapped his hands to urge the waiter to get their food faster. Ezekiel knew that their meal probably wouldn’t cost them a gold coin, but acting out as a rich prodigal person was enjoyable.

When their meal arrived, the dishes were enjoyable, but Robert and Luke still said that their food was a lot better. After their meal was done, surprisingly, 20 silver coins were returned to them. After their meal, they rested a little in the nearby park. It was nice since the park was surrounded by trees and flowers. Children were playing but since this was a large town, Ezekiel didn’t allow his brothers to join the children and told them that they just needed to rest for a few minutes then they would go back to shopping, including buying some toys for them and it was enough for the two boys to sit patiently by his side.

After around five minutes, they returned to roaming the town. They went inside a shop that sells clocks and other mechanical things like music boxes and other mechanized toys. The funny thing was, Robert and Luke weren’t interested in purchasing any of the toys.

“Why don’t you want to buy anything here?” Ezekiel asked.

“You can make us much better toys, and you can make them move using your magic!” Robert said, and Luke nodded as well.

Ezekiel was tempted to purchase a watch, but he thought that Robert was correct, the things in his system store were better, and he could always check the time using his system browser, which was the 1st tab.

Although the mechanical shop was nice, they didn’t spend too much time there and went to the next shop, which was a clothing store again. Robert and Luke complained, but Ezekiel wanted to purchase another couple of sets of clothes for everyone, and the merchant, seeing the clothes everyone was wearing and probably recognizing them as from one of her competitors, didn’t waste time introducing the best product in her store.

Ezekiel didn’t bother and told the woman that their group needed two sets of clothing for each of them, consisting of shirts, pants, underpants, and socks, and to make sure that the design and color varied.

That request put a smile on the lady’s face, and just like the previous clothing merchant, she clapped her hands, and three girls appeared from somewhere and began measuring all of them, and soon their clothing was ready. Ezekiel paid the 1 gold coin price tag for all of their clothes, which was a little cheaper than the previous one, and then they decided to continue exploring the town.

The downside of the town and possibly the city of a backwards world was the limited things that one could see, so soon, Ezekiel was bored and asked the boys if they wanted to return to the inn so they could rest.

Robert and Luke declined and said that they wanted to play in the park that they passed by. Ezekiel just sighed inwardly and allowed his brothers to play. He joined in on the fun since he looked small enough that playing with his brothers looked normal to everyone.

They spent the next three hours playing different games like tag and hide and seek. Since they joined the town kids playing in the park, the children also taught the brothers a lot of games. Ezekiel even taught them a lot, too, like the preschool games Statues and Duck, Duck, Goose.

After that busy afternoon playing, they all returned to the inn and headed directly to their room. Ezekiel cleaned his brothers using his Prestidigitation spell, and without prompting from him, the boys took a nap. Ezekiel then told Simon he could do whatever he wanted for the rest of the day, and since he was a growing boy too, he joined his brothers for a nap.

Ezekiel woke up after a couple of hours, and he woke up his brothers as well, since he let them continue sleeping, they would be hard pressed to sleep later. Since all of them were hungry, they decided to eat an early lunch, and because Luke wanted to eat his food because it was much more delicious than anything the inn or even the whole town could serve them, Ezekiel just retrieved food from his 4th tab space, and the three started to eat.

Regarding Simon and Edward the minstrel, they have the coins, so they could eat anywhere they wanted.

Robert and Luke started playing with their toys, which they asked Ezekiel to awaken using magic. Since they were playing inside the room, he obliged his brothers.

The good thing about using the Tiny Servant spell on the boys’ toys, he could set up a command that would make the moving toys stop moving whenever another person arrived.

Ezekiel left his brothers in his room to look for Edward and Simon. He wasn’t worried about Robert and Luke since Yuki Onna was just outside the window, perched in a nearby tree, looking after them.

He saw Edward drinking wine in the common room, with Simon joining him. After looking at them for a few minutes, it appeared that Simon was roped in by Edward to celebrate with him. More than likely, the minstrel’s business venture was a success.

Ezekiel called both of them over, and a good thing that Edward wasn’t too drunk. The three then went upstairs to their room. When they entered Edward’s room, the minstrel started excitedly telling them what happened with his attempts to sell his items.

“The general merchandise store owner bought all of the wooden items that we’re selling. I managed to get 1 gold and 10 silver for the whole lot! The spices were much better! The spice merchant gushed that it was the best spices that he had ever seen in his life, and managed to sell both the salt and pepper for a whopping 160 gold coins!”

Edward then gave all the coins that he said to Ezekiel, and he gave 10 gold and 10 silver coins to the minstrel, telling the man that it was his commission. The problem that was irritating Ezekiel was, Simon was supposed to accompany Edward during the transaction, but he simply forgot and asked their guardian to accompany them in exploring the town.

More than likely, Edward earned more gold than he stated, but to be honest, Ezekiel didn’t care. What he cared for was for Simon to be trained, but there would be other opportunities in the future.

“Go ahead and celebrate tonight if you want, but please remember that we will be leaving tomorrow,” Ezekiel told the two.

Edward simply nodded and forcefully pulled Simon to join him in celebrating their first successful business venture. After the two left, Ezekiel joined his brothers in his room and told them that they would be leaving the town the next day. The boys cheered because they knew that once they were on the road, they could return to living in the conjured houses, which were much better than the inn, and they could watch the most wonderful moving stories that appeared in a magic box.

Since it was early and the boys were energetic due to the nap they took earlier, Ezekiel started their English and the common language lessons, and they spent a couple of hours on that.

“Where is Simon?” Robert asked.

“He and Edward are out celebrating since the minstrel earned us a lot of gold coins. I’ll buy you toys tomorrow!” Ezekiel told the boys, and his brothers cheered.

After the lessons, they ate some of the sandwiches that Ezekiel had made and then allowed the boys to continue playing with their toys. In the meantime, Ezekiel calculated the amount of gold coins he would need to purchase all of the 4th-level spells.
